Insight 2015 in association with CIMS successfully organised the Great Ahmedabad Run on the morning of 24th September 2015.
It was a surreal sight to see 400 inhabitants of Ahmedabad from all ages and walks of life take part in the Run, with the first rays of the sun ushering them from the gates of IIM Ahmedabad. The 5km Run, organised on the occasion of World Heart Day with a call to "Run for your Hearts", commenced from IIM Old Campus, through Nehru Circle and Shivranjani ended back at IIM. Akhilesh Kashyap, a first year PGP student at IIMA, was the first person to complete the run well under 23 minutes busting the myth of the sedentary, hunched-on-their-laptops MBA graduates. CIMS Hospital distributed refreshments all along the route and certificate of appreciation was given to all participants along with some great gift vouchers and mementos.
The Run was organised by Insight 2015 as a precursor to the marketing conclave of IIM A to be organised from 25th-27th September, with huge nationwide participation from top B-school students, corporates and eminent speakers. The team members are excited about the upcoming events of Insight and their flagship event called 'The Great Ahmedabad Mela'. The Great Ahmedabad Mela hosts a wide array of events for Amdavadis which gives them the opportunity to come and enjoy their time with their families playing games and enjoying performances. The students are also bringing together a flea market of budding and reknowned designers called 'Disconnect'. Needless to say, IIM is all geared up for an exciting weekend.
