The common entrance test for all students aspiring to take medicine the next year has for the time being shelved. The Medical Council of India has cleared the proposal of CET for graduate and post graduate courses in medical colleges across the country.

Well the CET is always among the talks. The common entrance test for almost all of professional courses seems to be very tough as regards scoring. Many a times an aspirant who scores less, often is somewhat not confident as regards his/her admission in any good college. Whereas the one who scores excellent has got no worries.

Do these common entrance tests determine an individuals future or is it really considered to be path to get an entry to the professional field, whatever the marks be it doesnt matter !!

Do you feel, all the courses that demand a common entrance be supported. Or should one cramp the entrance tests??

for all courses, one common test will not be fair. suppose a student, because of some reason (may be health related) is unable to attend the test, then his\her whole year will be wasted without any mistake.
but yes, a entrance test is required as it will determine the knowledge and competencies of a person :SugarwareZ-252:

A common entrance test is like a filtering process. I am a law student who appeared for the Common Law Admission Test. After I cracked it and made it to GNLU, I realized that every one had some or the other remarkable talents, be it academic or artistic, but nonetheless, everyone was intelligent in their own way. This indicates that the crowd is duly filtered through the process of a common entrance exam.

Another important feature of a common entrance test if that the pattern of the test is field oriented. Its like taking in students of preferred subjective intelligence. It means if I am more incline towards designing and art, I would end up in the last rank list of IIT-JEE but at the same time I would top NEED or NATA.
