THE CIO ACADEMY PROGRAM CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING MODULES:
ACADEMY
In modern business environment IT and IS can no longer
be considered ?technical tools?, rather they are sources
of competitive advantage and innovation. Effective
and successful IT management and IT governance
represent a challenge to CIOs and IT professionals
as well as to business managers and board members.
The ideal candidates for CIO Academy program are
board members, executives and business managers, IT
managers (CIOs) and IT professionals in public and/or
private institutions, junior IT professionals with ambition
to lead and manage as well as anyone who wants to
gain better understanding of IT and IS as key strategic
business resources.
Upon successful completion of the program (which
includes a written exam), the Faculty of Economics and
Business will honor the ?FBA – CIO Academy? candidates
with a Certi?cate.

CIO Academy program helps develop professional,
business, leadership and social intelligence skills for
business managers, entrepreneurs, board members,
executive managers, and CIOs working in Croatia and
Central and South-East Europe.
Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Zagreb,
the leading Croatian and regional academic
institution in economics, business and management
education has initiated in October 2007 the FBA-
CIO Academy, an exclusive and innovative life-
long learning program in the management and
business area, with specific emphasis on strategic
alliance between business people and information
technology (IT) professionals.
FBA – CIO (Fundamentals of Business
Administration – Chief Information Officer)
Academy aims at improving the cooperation
between corporate management and IT
department as well as enabling IT-induced
business innovation. The program focuses on the
following issues:
• How to manage IT and IS at corporate level;
how to gain competitive advantage by smart
and efficient IT initiatives
• How to build a ‘bridge’ in communication
between business managers (CEO, CFO, CxOs)
and IT managers (CIO)
• How to manage IT investments and make
management and board members aware of
their cost effectiveness
• How to successfully manage IT-induced risks
and measure IT Business Value
• How to improve overall managerial and
leadership skills in IT
• How to improve personal productivity
• How to successfully manage change and
implement innovative, technology-based

PROGRAM is taking place at the Faculty of
Economics and Business (FEB) Zagreb.
TIMETABLE is in line with the candidates’
working hours; Friday afternoons and
Saturday mornings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:
associate degree (in Croatian higher
education system VŠS).
PROGRAM FEE: 18.000 kunas per candidate
(10% discount for FEB postgraduate students).
