The Bonfire (Poem)

Introduction : Well this an satirical account of what goes down at these numerous phony social events.

Sit around do they ,

Around a bonfire merrily,

A tale; all do tell.

Lest they be scorned by the fire,

keep away ; at about an ell.

A Hookah, a Roll-up, a Beedi or a Cigarette,

An euphemism of class ; kept safer than a pet,

to inebriate the moment ,

a little brew , much to the hostess’ dissent.

But alas! , as the smoke goes up……

the insignia doth diffuse.

While the crackle and hisses slow down,

instigated by echolalia, a delirium does ensue.

They once swore as kin, now fight for a crop unsown.

Only the sun does shine invariably,

upon the in-salvageable ruin.
