Television is better than books.

any day t.v. is better than books when u r chilling out after a hard earned degree but when it comes to studies it has to be books before all .
u always need to read a book (manual) to operate the idiot box.
theres also an other aspect to it, u need some practical knowledge which is somewat achieved through tv after all
so blend of both the worlds will get you high in life as the philosophy goes for cocktails.
 
Yes of course, because it gives visual and audio appeal... that books cannot give...
Learning through viewing is better than reading which put ppl to sleep....
 
TV is the media where we can update ourself faster than any other media..
moreover for the management students this type medias will help a lot in many ways..
and in other side books can give us only the past data and they cannot update us with the present scenario.. so i can conclude that without books also a mba student can have good future if and only if he's aware of the current happenings by using this type of medias...

to acquire knowledge from a tv is good but you cannot guarantee that they are perfect, they can just be personal views

Addiction to TV should be avoided at early stages of child growth. However, the TV can be an effective tool of child learning if properly utilised.
 
I should have actually said that it is a powerful audio-visual teaching aid if providers select their programmes( or topics) properly.
 
Television and Books are not comparable. Television are most of the time the interpretation of someone for a story he / she has read. So most of the time the original idea get lost.

according to me books give broder meaning and inculcate the power of imagination in a person. but at the same time tv if used properly for the purpose of learning like channels like national geo etc will be useful. u get to know many things.

so i would say both are better it depends on how a person uses it

Ofcourse BOOKS are far more better then Television. I am a regular reader and basically I like those books which helps in the continuous development of my personality.

T.V. has a advantage over books in terms of visual and and audio...

People would prefer looking and hearing a particular story from a book rather than read a book....

Even children like to learn through interactive learning than read books which are monotonous in nature....
 
Since the opinion may differ from person to person, I personally believe that an Audio- Visual approach makes a much faster and long lasting impression as a learning stage. For communicative people TV is a mode of learning, observing and implementing. As far as books go, they are a huge medium where the picture is painted with words, the creativity of words, pictures, articles, news is interesting enough to pull people in for hours and days. All in all, I prefer both for different perspectives
 
watch CNBC & u urself will come to know wat is interesting & what is not. Actually saying bks other than fiction are not at all interested to read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
according to me yes tv is better than books coz in books you can only get bookiest knowledge and you cant access current knowledge of all the world you can only access the limited knowledge of the particular topic while in tv you can access the knowledge from all over the world on different topics and that too practical life experience...
