Television is better than books.

yuppp televisions r better than books coz it helps 2 understand things faster n is mor intresting wen compared 2 bks tht consume alot of time

To Some extent i agree that TV has an edge over Books. This is because visual images have quicker and long lasting impact on our perceptiona and understanding. On the other hand, excessive use of TV Could lead to poor concentration while reading books enhance ones imaginative skills and also improves concentration.

Hey!

Television and Books have only one thing in common of imparting knowledge.

Television scores more in gaining quick and clear knowledge with the help of visual images and attractive presentation.

You never get bored watching T.V.[compared to books]

But BOOKS are entirely different way of gaining knowledge.

Books can be read anywhere, anytime without electricity and it is handy and it needs no efforts.

In this age of power-cuts, I find books are better than TV not in respect of quick information but in respect of gaining knowledge.

By reading books, You acquire reading skills and master the language.

Television is more attractive but provides no deep meaning of the information.

Its just the highlights of the topic.

Nyways I believe BOOKS ARE MUCH BETTER THAN TELEVISION.

personally i like TV but i think books are very helpful in developing the imaginative power of an individual. you can get such information's that can't be provided by TV.
but TV also have advantages, it is easy to use, anyone can use it, provides fast-easy-interactive information.

tv is good for gaining knowledge in a quicker way..
but books provide knowledge indepth
& it makes you to think..:SugarwareZ-152:
but in tv, you dont hav to use your brain, it somewhat like spoon feeding

I think book is more helpful to learn, but provides you ways to develop your imaginative sense and creative sense.
Tv is lazy....you dont use your brain, so you can`t improve....
Just look around, the inteligents people those you know watch much tv or read more?
For me, certainly read more!

yeah.....books make a person think further.once you rad book, it jsut cant go out of your mind..whereas television is pure entertainment...........so i feel television is better than books.....

TV is for news/discussions and the visual aspect thereof. But you should avoid being addicted to it. Hence you need to make sure that it does not take the important place of books.

Television is hundred times better ..... The very fact of visual presentation of things ... the only problem is that it is not exploited properly.

Sadly ppl still call it an idiot box, not to forget majority of our learnings are from this so called idiot box.

Be it serious lessons or those in lighter vien ....

television and books are incomparable. both of them have their pros and cons and it entirely depends on personal interest , requirement and suitability. for eg aft a stressful day at job who wud want to switchover to books unless u r a book worm. speaking abt tv it gives u knowledge, information and entertainment by jus controlling d remote. u ve got news, music, exercise, yoga, daily soaps, reality shows , films, wildlife, religion oriented shows and so much. on the other hand reading books (fiction +nonfiction) would give you immense knowledge about that particular topic, authors viewpoint, semantics of the language and the thrill of imagination wic u wud not obviously ve while watching tv.

TV brings you the news and other updates faster than books. You can know all the happenings a few mins by sitting before the TV.But there is always some pleasure in reading books.TV can be a good stressbuster after hrs of study but there is only a thin line of distinction b/wn a stressbuster and addiction. In recent times, you have to very careful about the selection of channels in TV.But books give a different feel about the story. You can enjoy a particular language only by reading.Even in this internet era,the best friend to share the morning coffee is the newspaper and nobody can beat it.

My vote would be for the books.

hey're great, in different ways.
I like books because they're so personal; you can get inside the head of the characters/author and the detail of their thoughts is something you often don't find on television.

Sometimes books are so so much better than tv, you can really get engrossed in them and there's such a lot to gain from them. On the other hand sometimes tv can be better by a mile. As afforementioned its about finding the happy medium, they both have things to offer the other doesn't too many watch tv exclusively though.

like to read books because they give you room to imprint your own imagination onto the chasis of the book; the acting and direction cannot be criticised since it is done entirely in your own head according to your own, indvidual preferences.

that said, reading books is more challenging than watching tv and, after a hard day, i'd much rather sit down and watch some tv than continue to stress myself.
