teenagers spending too much time on internet

I think being on internet atleasts makes them learn stuff. Also, being connected globally will improve their linguistic and communication skills. They even make a nice target group for online services and products!

Well.. Yea.. True..! Teenagers especially is spending a lot of time..! Talk abt Generation gap.. :)

But for this generation, information dissemination is also a priority.. What is required is internet literacy..! Time to start courses in high schools for understanding what is good and bad..! Its way to difficult to sort good from bad today..! Needs some revamp in the educational sector.. :help:

in my opinion if they are spending time on enhancing their knowledge then there is nothing wrong with that.internet provides access to wealth of information and if used accurately can be very useful

teenagers are spending lots of time on computer nad its very harmfull for theree health it effects there mind and there memory power

For ones who try to spend time meaningfully on internet but can not do so:::::::::
Although it is true that internet (Dr. Google and Mr. Yahoo) have made resources available through search engines, however the tragic fact is that one often gets lost in the variety of information available. Who to guide, "what to read and what not to read"? Qualilty of information available has got diluted.

Better were old days when either people used to read recommended books or trying to network with good brains in the social forum.

Better would be the present day if available information on internet gets married with the recommended readings. Since the recommended books are not available for free on internet, people tend to read junk information.

Marry the past with present to get the best.

yes students are spending to much time on the internet.........take example.........iam supposed to do the PR assignment on my own but in stead iam busy searching for the information on the net......it all boils down to what kind of information o activity person does on the internet.
THANKS

Hi, this is an ironic topic for a forum like this. Most of the people responding to this topic are already on the Internet for WAY too long in terms of daily usage. But can the over-dependence on the internet be reduced? The internet has reached a point where it's already embedded into our daily lives. Think about it, how many of you can 'work' if there's no internet access available in your schools, colleges and offices. All work stops as soon as the net goes down. In a way it's become like electricity. No work can be done without it. Earlier there were 'developed', 'developing' and 'under-developed' countries. Now there are 'internet-enabled' or 'internet-disabled' regions. After the Industrial Revolution, we are finally in the middle of THE biggest revolution in human history - the Connectivity Revolution. And, in the case of internet connectivity, more is always less.

pretty good topic,
i personally feel that the next gen is spending too much time on the internet, but then again its not their fault, with the advent of the IT sector and the emergence of new technologies like smartphones, corbys, iphones (all of them replacing the traditional computer) and being easily available to the teenagers, it is inevitable to separate the them from the internet bug

Ok, so children are now getting older and they're spending a lot of time on the computer and internet. There are so many stories about online predators, online bullying and many other internet safety issues. As a parent one may want/need to know what their kids are doing online in order to help keep them safe. Spector Pro has been selected as Editor's Choice at PC Magazine for being the best computer monitoring software for keeping an eye on kids while they are online.

A federal law, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), was created to help protect kids online. It's designed to keep anyone from obtaining a child's personal information without a parent knowing about it and agreeing to it first
