Team work VS. Leadership..

Hi guys,

Leadership and teamwork are different virtues, they are strongly related in business, sports, the military and volunteerism. It is easy to state that leader’s lead, while teams follow leaders to reach goals and objectives. Yet, great teams have superior leaders as members. To paraphrase a common definition of solid leadership, "Leaders are people that other people want to follow." However, most outstanding leaders are also equally accomplished team players.

If you have leadership quality it will not be hard for you to push for a positive teamwork.

Hence, I will place teamwork and leadership in one thread as these two corporate features can't go all alone. Rather they are related. One can get more inside into the issue of he or she learns about leadership management.

If you take the case of Narayan Murthy then you will see that he is not only a leader but a team player as well. What made him that perfect? Getting involved with his team mates as well as other employees made him achieve his target quickly and efficiently.

Do let me know if I'm overlooking anything. :-)

I totally agree... Leadership & Teamwork are related. Every team needs to have a leader who directs them & keeps them together!

There are times when the team gets de-motivated or have some misunderstandings - the leader makes sure everything is sorted! A Leader has to make sure that he is involved and dedicated as much as he expects his team to be, because he is the one who sets the standards and if he doesn't care and just bosses around the team will not be able to give their best.
 
A leadership is successful or not is rely upon that how your followers see you. If your followers think you are a successful and effective then it is. As opposed to leadership, team work is all depend upon the communication. You need to communicate with your team members in order to share new ideas and thought for achieving the target.
