Teachers dont teach, they just instruct

Most teachers just make us copy down notes, and explain nothing. Then when you ask for clarification on a question, they simply restate it slowly, and assume that it helped.

Teachers do not teach anymore, they just instruct. Your thoughts?
 
Unfortunately, a lot of teachers really don't know the material they're supposed to be teaching, they're just reading ahead in the textbook and then passing on what they read.

Perhaps this is where our Indian education system is slack. Teachers are not paid well which turns good potential population away from this profession as well as there are no stringent tests to qualify.
 
I agree to the point that teachers are not paid well in private institutions. But still they can do quite a lot of innovative work left.
