Tata Indicom's offer: Talk endlessly for Re.1

New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) Telecom operator Tata Teleservices Tuesday launched a scheme that will enable its CDMA subscribers to talk endlessly for just Re.1.

Breaking away from the usual practice of charging subscribers on a one minute-pulse basis, Tata Teleservices CDMA callers will be charged Re.1 for all local calls and Rs.3 for long distance calls, regardless of the duration of the call.

The pay-per-call product has been launched on the prepaid platform, and subscribers opting for it will be charged a daily fee of Re.1.

The company is also offering short messages service (SMS) at Re.0.50, for both local and national SMS.

The pay-per-call service will be offered by Tata Indicom, the CDMA arm of Tata Teleservices.

'Pay-per-call will change the pricing paradigm in the telecom space,' said Tata Teleservices managing director Anil Sardana.

Added Vineet Bhatia, the company's chief operating officer for Delhi and head of the northern region: 'The service gives consumers freedom to talk to their hearts' content without any of the hassles they face on the charging front.'

well i just read the headlines. Dont know many details.
There must be a big CONDITION APPLY tag to the same. Eg- speaking endlessly for say few mins or say endlessly only once in 24hrs. Just a guess
Just as we dont have unlimited internet (though ads say so) similarly, they cant do it for unlimited calling coz than that will be against indian regulations as stated by DoT.

The new pricing strategy of Tata is surely going to result in seamless price wars which is already at its peak in the telecom sector.
Moreover the consumers are going to benefit from this and it would also lead to better utilization of Tata underutilised networks.

hey guyz..... tata indicom people r not fool... they put the limitations on this plan tht u can talk only for 10 mins in Rs 1 & for Rs 3 in case of STD... Re 1 would be deducted daily frm ur account... So u guyz can urself check hw clever the company is

wel i gues ur rt abt it..coz this applies for only the 1st 10 mins of any cal...after dat the call will b charged at Re 1 per min for local and Rs 3 per min for std calls...so u need to cut the cal after every 10 mins to njoi that service for the so called 'unlimited callin' :X
