STRENGTH OF TRADE UNION
1. In India there is a strong political backing for the trade unions.
2. Trade union are in a comfortable position & have a control over the management.
3. Employees have still believe in trade union as they belif the trade union really works for their welfare.
4. Indian media plays a very important role in highlighting the work of trade union due to this support from media the trade unions always have an edge over management.
5. Employees in India have now realized the importance of collective bargaining in trade union.
WEAKNESS OF TRADE UNION
1. In India it is always seen that the government does not frame proper policies & rules which should be in favour of trade union.
2. The trade union movement in India is unorganized due to which the growth of trade union in India is stagnated.
3. There is large corruption among the trade union in India.
4. The intervention of politics in trade union has misguided the main objective of the trade union. It has also resulted in the internal rivalry among the various trade unions.
5. The trade union movement in India is fragmented due to casteism, religion, & various other social factors.
6. Lack of proper knwoldge among the trade union regarding there objective & functions.
OPPURTUNITIES OF TRADE UNION
1. It has an opportunity to enter in various new sectors such as malls, BPO’s, IT Industries & colleges, etc.
2. In future because of good political back up of trade union there is a good chances of getting support from the government to the trade union.
3. Many employees in India are un unionized & face problem from the
management, because of which they are willing to form trade union.
THERATS FOR TRADE UNION
1. Privatization is perceived as a biggest threat by the trade union.
2. Due to globalization various MNC’s are entering into India which do not have the concept of trade union.
3. Young generation of India do not have trust in trade union as they are highly educated as well as entering into professional field. Eg:- IT Industry & BPO Industry.
4. Because of less control of the government regarding the formation of trade union any one can start a trade union of themselves which would result in an increase in competition among the trade union.
