Structure and Syllabus of SRM Engineering Entrance Exam - M Tech
The selection of the candidates for the M Tech course is on the basis of their score in the entrance exam. The entrance exam consists of objective type questions of three papers. The first two papers are compulsory papers for all the candidates and the third paper includes questions according to the specialization of the candidates. The time provided for completing the exam is of two hours. The first paper consists of 30 questions second paper consists of 45 questions. The candidates will get one mark for each correct answer and for the incorrect answers 0.25 marks will be reduced.
The test consists of following topics.
Paper 1: Engineering mathematics
Paper 2: Basic Engineering and Sciences
Paper 3: Specialization Paper
Those who pass the written test will be selected for attending the counseling session and finally for joining the M.Tech course.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates should fulfill some eligibility conditions for applying for the test. The candidates who have completed their B.Tech in the specialized subject from any affiliated University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate can apply for the post. Another requirement is that the candidate must be a citizen of India and must have completed their B.Tech course from any colleges in our country.
How to Apply?
The application form can be obtainable from the exam counter of the University and from the branches of Axis Bank, City Union Bank, Indian Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, State Bank of India and through the Post Offices. Candidates can get it from there against the cash payment of the application fee.
The application fee is Rs.750/- The downloaded application form from the University can also be used by the candidates. They have to pay the application fee in the form of demand draft at the time of submission of the application fee. Due to any difficulty for getting the application form the candidates send a letter of the requisition to the head of the University for getting the application form. The candidates have the option for the online registration for the exam through the University website.

The applicants must give proper care while filling the application form. The form should be filled by the candidate in Capital Letters only. The application form must be clean and without any stay marks. The filled form should be forwarded to the University office before the final date of doing it. The form should be send all eligibility proofs needed for the exam. The bank draft of the application fee should be attached with the form.
