SRK's detention in the US airport

well i have a little different opinion althought SRKs detention
at airport has got a lot of hype than frisking of our former president kalam.
As per the law in america whether u r a celeb or a VIP all hav to undergo the same security check.Custom officers may be rude in their inquiry but law is same for everyone n India should learn the same where even the Ministers relatives r given the so called VIP treatment .
 
America is not doing this for the first time...
It was certainly not correct with SRK..a world known personality..

US should update their security checklist...scrutnising by the name of religion is just not corrrect!
There have been innocents who are suffering because of that!

I have even seen people being scared before keeping name of there new born baby...as there have been few NAMES which are blacklisted...
 
Obviously you cannot change rules just because SRK is a celebrity. But what it seems from situation is that it was done just because he is Khan ? that is so pathetic
 
I think the whole episode was a way 2 promote his new film My name is khan which is being produced by Fox....
 
i think the media hype was too much. srk is a world known personality but i think in the light of the turbulence all over they were not completely wrong.
 
ITS REALLY NOT A ISSUE IF SRK WAS CAUGHT IN THE DETENTION IN USA. EVEN HE IS A HUMAN BIENG...HE IS A SUPER STAR OF INDIA DOESNT MEANS THAT THERE ARE NO RULES FOR HIM. IF ANY OTHER MAN OR WOMAN MIGHT HAD CAUGHT IN THAT PROCESS...NO ONE WOULD HAVE KNOWN ALSO...RATHER..THEY WOULD HAVE TORTURED HIM WID MORE STUPID QUESTIONS THEN SRK....THERE IS NO ISSUE THAT RK WAS DETENTED..IT WASA PART OF THEIR SECURITY AND SRK IS SUPPOSED TO HELP THEM.. NOT TO SAY AGAINSTY THEM......IT IS JUS T BECASUE OF THESE SECURITIES IN USA...THEY ARE SUCH A SUPER POWER NATION....UNLIKE INDIA WHERE EVEN TERRORISTS ARE TREATED AS GUESTS AND WORSHIPPED....

I would be on the side of the airport authorities as it is a question of security for a country. If at the IGI Airport they did not spare Mr. Abdul Kalam then SRK issue is very trivial. Being a celebrity does not mean u can bypass rules. And one should take it that way.

Its not because he was frisked, and checked, its because we tend to treat US personnel with care, and even if brad pitt were to come here, and got frisked, you could've seen some US personnel slamming indian security agencies, for being out of their minds, while they being US ccan do anything, we should be giving tit for tat. If we aint giving our security system aint good then.
 
May be it was being hyped by the indian media.....for which it is wellknown....I believe that the officers were performing their duty & the rules should be followed by all.....but if that was done based on caste & name ...then it was very shameful act on part of US...
 
actually the media has hyped it...Srk hd just informed his closed 1s...bt wen the media gt to knw of it..and they wanted a 'breaking news' on a holiday morning...

I completely disagree with this statement. SRK is the king of bollywood and such a veteran actor does'nt need a cheap publicity like this. Its 9 nine months for the movie to be released. If he'll do publicity he'll do it 2-3 months prior and in an ethical manner as he always do.
Even if he doesnt do publicity, people will go n watch the movie simply because of his large fan following. Example - RNBDJ was a hit even after enormous publicity of his rival film Ghajini.

Moreover,when he got detained @ the airport, it was media who as usual reached the spot and cooked a nice dish by putting all sorts of 'chatpate masale' into it and presenting before us.

So why blame SRK for this. He never called media people.

guyz tell me onething can only the muslims or people with the khan name be terrorist. is it written somewhere tht christians or jews or some other religion cannot be voilent. it's just all bull shit on the part of america nothing else
 
I totally agree..SRK press conference was totally directed towards PR ...cos if u really dont bother to ask for sorry frm them( US)..ten why go in public and discuss the issue knwing tat ur answer willl create ripplies in media and hence pr for his new movie...
 
So what...did King-khan-mr-big-personality complaint when others with similar surnames being detained...? Probably not...in case of others not much government machinery got mobilized. Also, if he didn't have had anything to hide, then why exactly was he worried? Also, main theme of his movies for which he was going there was very much similar...can one go around while portraying some country in a bad (or OK, actual) light, but hoping for a favorable-than-others treatment at the same time?
 
I REALLY DONT THINK SRK HAS DONE THIS FOR PUBLICITY...
He was detained for 2 hrs by the us authorities..just bacause he had a common name..
he being a world known personality,,,his identification could have been done in 5 minutes...

there was no pr involved in this...he din want to hype the issue,,,that is why he said that he dint requir any apologies from anyone...
 
The US officials were just performing their part of duty....we all have witnessed grave circumstances due to lapse of security and vigilence. So be it King Khan or whoever the procedures apply to all equivocally... Media in India is good for nothing...day by day deteriorating by its standards. news channels showcasing laughter shows, bollywood news..there's hardly any sensible news coruscated by media nowadays.....
