Leoneda Inge ’08 blogs from South Korea, after her first day on a spring break Chazen International Study Tour with Professor Kathryn Harrigan and 27 fellow MBA students.
We’ve adapted to our 14-hour time difference quite well — and the 14-hour flight to Seoul. We had to adapt — our week is jam-packed with business and cultural adventure. And everybody knows who we are because there’s a big Columbia Business School banner on the side of the tour bus we’re riding in around town!
Hours after arriving in Seoul, we spent a beautiful pre-springafternoon at Changdeokgung Palace. It was rebuilt in the early 1600safter being destroyed during the Japanese invasion.
From there, it wasoff for a gourmet lunch and to see the live martial arts comedyJump. One of our fellow CBS students was even pulled on stage toperform a little!
Monday morning, we started the day off with yoga. The instructor atDahn Yoga kicked my butt (and a few others). If you want proof, we'realready in the news.
Top executives at LG were welcoming and accessible (their showroom of new gadgets and widescreens is SWEET), and so were the execs at Mirae Asset — the top asset management company in Korea.
I know this seems like a lot for our first 24 hours, but we did it.Next, we take on Samsung!
