Hi friends

I am just about to finish my MBA prog. from ICFAI Hyderabad. Prior to MBA i worked with an organization for 1 year.

In all these days of MBA , i personally felt that MBA would add more value and would prove to be more helpful for those who have previously worked somewhere.A person with a relevant work ex , knows things like :- industry structure, code of conduct, accepted norms, current trends e.t.c , which a fresher lacks.
This trend is prevalent in all the foreign universities and few Indian colleges like ISB Hyderabad have put in practice.

On top of that a person with a work -ex would definitely add value to class room discussion by sharing his experience and would help in generating a positive thought process.Such people would be able to practically relate theories with industrial practices.

I feel that minimum 2 years of work ex should be made mandatory for all the management exams

In my opinion, work ex should be made mandatory for mba..because organization make them learn what B schools cant teach..practicality..case studies presentations are ok but the true taste is in the field i.e market..and organization boosts the confidence level of the students..
 
I have been teaching at all the leading B-Schools under Pune University. Work-ex matters a lot. People can actually relate subjects like Managing for excellence much better if they have actually been a part of it
 
i believe that work ex matters a lot ..... I have a work ex of 6yrs ... n now i am doing my mba .... I have to actually explain the real life scenarios to my friends ..... But if some one has an exp of around 2 yrs he can implement the knowledge more successfully.....
 
no according to me work experience for mba must not be complusory.as many of the students doesnt have experience which doesnt mean that they doesnt have the potential to do well in the business....the only thing they need is a chance to prove themself.............
 
i strongly feel that 12-24monthgs of work ex is useful before MBA degree since it helps u in connecting with the subject matter being taught in classes
