Should students be allowed to grade teachers?

Should students get an opportunity to grade teachers- the ones who are going to teach them. Should students get an opportunity to know the skills & knowledge of the with whom they are going to spend time together sharing & enhancing knowldege. Finally the students are the one who need to adjust with the teachers for couple of years. If the professor concerned is good and students find themselves comfortable with the concerned the problem dosent ariese. But if this is not the condition then what ? The ultimate sufferers are the students and their future ! Hence why to take a chance and take precaution before hand.
But yes it is even more important to know who is grading the teachers? obviously if a team of students/or a cell is created in the batch of students this will defenitly help both and will fulfill the objectives of both

Yes, Students should be allowed to rank teachers. as they are having the right to select teachers for them.

"Yes, Students should be allowed to rank teachers. as they are having the right to select teachers for them." Very true

At my university we do grade our teachers, but it's a little different than selecting the type of professor you would like to take a class with, what we do is that at the beginning of the semester and at the end, we grade them according to relevance in the course, material used, class environment, and other things of the kind. That way, when a proffesor gets bad results for, lets say 3 semesters in a row, the board probably replaces him.

This is awesome because sometimes you do encounter professors who don't care about the class, but the down side is that people tend to be unfair spoiled brats and judges professors to harsh. I guess that is why the "3 semesters in a row" policy came up.

It was really good to hear from you. That this system prevails in your institute. I hope this system gets adopted everywhere, which will beneficial for all of us.

No students should never be allowed to rate their educator. Because from my point of view you can find so many students who are immature then how can they rank a teacher. It may cause a bad influence on the learning environment and interrupt it.
