SHOULD SACHIN TENDULKAR RETIRE ???

I do not understand that why every now and then this question pops up. Do we really have anybody even close to replicating what this gentleman does it day in day out for indian cricket. Lets not talk about past records for a minute (because that will make any other argument look so weak), even when he goes to bat, the team in the dug out know that they can be rest assured about the 100% commitment from the little champion. The opponent start thinking of any possible way to get him out. The influence he is in the team is unbelievable.

And more even the former black caps players understand what he and Rahul Dravid is but we seem to continue to praise the newbie's and think they are better than these legends.

I believe he shold only play test cricket, this way he can score more centuries thus not letting ricky from breaking his current record.

one thing i want to tell u is that his exit would take out the charm of indian cricket. its almost lost with ganguly and dravid retiring from the side.

today apart from him there is no big name for our cricket active in field.

hey guys....just post ur views & opinions whether sachin shud retire now or maybe he has some more years left in him to serve indian cricket .......

Sachin tendulkar is like a god in indian cricket. I think we should leave the decision about retirement to himself rather than debating. He knows his fitness, skill level well at the international stage. He has still couple of years to play. Let him decide on his retirement. Just leave it guys, enjoy his play at the moment.

nops not at all

I would like to support sachin to stay in the Indian team for some more years. We should not leave some best players as a revenge taking action for loosing the world-cup.There is lot of cricket left in Sachin and India should benefit from it.

i cannot say that sachin should retire or not ...............but i actually want him to play .All i can say is that the way he carried his legacy during his entire carreer should follow him during his retirement .

no ways !! he should not !!
i think if u have resources like sachin .. thn u should use ur resources 100%. and that should be done without any emotional influence !! personal view.

I think a legend like sachin deserves a minimum favour like choosing the time of his retirement . Moreover a sachin can not be judged by the performance of a single series. May be he is not 100% fit nower days but still i think he has got some more years of international criket left in him.

As long as he continues to play such wonderful cricket, why this topic of retirement...I wish to watch him playing for India for a minimum of 4 years

Sachin Tendulkar is expected to announce his retirement from international cricket after the 2011 cricket world cup in the subcontinent. The Indian batsman, who made his debut in 1989 against Pakistan, recently scored his 45th century in the recently concluded test against Bangladesh. Tendulkar, whose status is iconic in India, has played 164 test matches and 440 one day internationals. He is widely regarded as the technically most complete batsman of his time, though the ability to win games for his country as well as his leadership qualities have sometimes been questioned by critics.

I am pretty sure that its a copy-paste thing. :SugarwareZ-070:

As for record, Sachin has played 177 Tests and 450 ODIs so far, and raring to go for more years. He has a great fitness and capability to play more than 2 years from now on.

In which world you live in? You even don't know whether the given information by you, is updated or not. FYI, Sachin has total 99 hundreds (51 in Tests and 48 in ODIs) in International Career. All are wiating for his 100th ton in this world cup. :yo:

At the outset I have to mention that I'm a diehard fan of Sachin Tendulkar. During his long and illustrious career he has achieved heights that only a few even come close to, and others simply dream about. In my opinion, India's cricketing fraternity has been treated with some really delightful demolitions of the opposition(s) at Sachin's hands! Remember the India vs. Pakistan game during World Cup 2003?! That innings is still vivid in my memory!

Having said that, I have to admit, Sachin's persistent lack of form during the past couple of years has been irksome, to say the least. I do not consider myself qualified enough to make a judgment call on the best course of action for Sachin Tendulkar from here forward. However, I do believe that cricket enthusiasts everywhere deserve better. I am not singling out Sachin for India's debacle at World Cup 2007, but perhaps had he played a more critical role as a batsman, maybe our fortunes would have changed.

Finally, I would like to advocate that we abjure playing the blame-game, and rather focus on rebuilding our cricket.
