SHOULD SACHIN TENDULKAR RETIRE ???

Nah! I don't think that the Maestro batsman is past his supreme...let the man rest in peace,he has always and would again re-emerge as the champion that he is. Once again his willow would answer the critics!

Hi Saquib,
I would like to support sachin to stay in the Indian team for some more years. We should not leave some best players as a revenge taking action for loosing the world-cup.There is lot of cricket left in Sachin and India should benefit from it.

The debate so far focuses on a host of issues: Age, Form, replacement and blooding the younsters. i guess the Form Factor should still rule and age shouldn't be considered a relevant factor.

i think once agn sachin is coming back in form........... hope he keep up that momentum and will be consistent enough for the rest of his career..........

but still i wud say " sachin should retire" in few months like dada with pride.......

:SugarwareZ-143::SugarwareZ-177::SugarwareZ-197::SugarwareZ-240: think Sachin should retire from odis after atleast 6 months, if not now........

like what brian lara n inzamam retires from odi cricket, sachin also shud think on his retirement ...........and he can play test till 2008-09.........but not more than that........

As we take a look at span of time of these 3 legends, we will get idea as sachin must retire now........otherwise in future he might get health problems.......

BRIAN LARA made his international debut in 1990 at the age of 21...and retired in 2007 World Cup.........

INZAMAM-UL-HAQ also made his debut in 1990 at the age of 20...and he also retired in World Cup 2007........

but, SACHIN TENDULKAR made his debut at international level at the age of 16 in 1989...........

So Lara & Inzamam's overall span of time in cricket (in odis) is 17 years........and sachin's span of time also is 17 years (1989-2007)..........

So taking into consideration these statistics, he can't play for a long time now.............forget about playing in next world cup 2011 which will be held in Asia...........but for himself, Sachin should retire...........there is not yet replacement for him in India but indian cricket will get one player like sachin in future....hope so....

He had vast contibution to indian cricket for 17 years.....................because 17 years playing the one game with injuries coming in between - it's not an easy job !!!

so he must retire now...n play test cricket only............that's it !!!

Sachin is a far better ODI player than Test player ... infact he is arguably the best ever ODI player [Some may say Sir Viv , some may say Michaeal Bevan , but i still stick to Sachin for the sheer volume ] .... asking him to retire from ODIs first is foolish .... He has struggled in Tests in recent years and not in ODIs ... if at all he need a break , he needs it in Tests .... Selectors please wake up

Hello Friends,

I feel that there is lot more cricket left and Sachin's contribution in this is pivotal!! No doubt that he is a grt player and his contributions for the team has been absolutely spectacular. He is really a grt source of inspiration for other members of the team but time has come for him to think on how long he can serve the Indian cricket.!

OFCOURSE NOT!!! He has been one of the pioneers of Indian Cricket AND World Cricket n i don think his time 2 retire has cum.. Not sooo Soon!! I think he can contribute much more to world cricket for many more yrs.. lol (until he jus cannot play)

he should not retire as his batting average is not stilll not down anf he s performing well.. yet he has many thing to attain..being highest scorer in test and oneday match..he can achieve more..:SugarwareZ-295:

If all seniors retire together indian team will become like zimbabwe when flower brothers and heath streak etc left the side... indian selector should gradually phase out the seniors.. with ganguly and kumble retiring now sachin should stay on for atleast a year more.

No,I don't think so.Sachin Tendulkar is still a challange 4 every bollwer and giving a satisfactory performance. He has a lot of cricket in him remained.

I dont think Sachin plays better against any good bowler and fast pitch. Now a days his refelx actions are quite slow and is only suitable for indian pitchs

I think it's high time he should retire.

hey guys....just post ur views & opinions whether sachin shud retire now or maybe he has some more years left in him to serve indian cricket .......

Hi Friends,
Well i dont think so the time has come for sachin to retire rite away...but yea it is due in the near future....also after anil's reitrement, i dont think so it wld be the right choice for sachin to follow him immediately...coz retirement of two gr8 seniors will be a major setback for the indian team...so yea continue for a couple of more years maximum....& then retire gracefully...thus end of an era

Cheers......:SugarwareZ-078:

Let's 4get abt Sachin retiring till we find a suitable replacement. It hurts to tell bt still there is nobdy in the Test Fray..
Even in ODIs if one looks at the young brigade, during England tour they were not able to handle the swing even once. India happened to won only those matches in which the tested opening pair of Sachin and Saurav worked. Even in Australia, if u move out the performance of Sachin from the finals, there was a very average batting display by Indians. So asking him to retire only because he had one bad series in Sri Lanka won't just be wrong but a great offence to the the Indian legend.
