Should the present system of assessing students on the basis of the exams taken every six months be abolished? Many students get stressed and many fare worse in the examinations ! Is the practice to rank students on their scores fair ? Exams test memory more than understanding, analysis and creativity. And on top of it, examination results depends on the opinion of the examiner. The same paper marked by two different examiners might get two completely different scores. Looking at this situation what marks one gets in his/her exams depends on two firstly the student herself/himeslf and secondly the most important the examiner. Do marks determine whether a student is poor, fair, average, excellent in his intelligence??? Is there any other better way to judge the intelligence of an individual !!

i feel exams should be replaced with other forms of assement. i feel it is foolish to test a person in one day by keeping exam which he studied in whole year.

I agree that assessment has to change from exams carrying a weightage of 30% and assignments and other forms of cases or oral or visual( Slides and their recognition)exams for children.

Exams can be replaced by other assessments like practical test that checks ur pratical knowledge...which is more important. n also by weekly test which will ensure that students study regularly instead of mugging up small parts of the whole book at the last minute..
