Hello,

Should Capital Punishment i.e Death Penalty be valid in India.
In a country like India where Rights of all the individuals are protected so in such a situation should any individual be given such a penalty for any crime.

And if it is allowed than i should be given for which punishment

Yes. I firmly believe capital punishment should be given to criminals.

We need to set examples. Every Terrorist or criminal should know the consequence of the false actions they take.

Also, why should we tax payers pay for the upkeep of such criminals in jails. There should be different ways of rigorous and capital punishment.

we as humans have no right to take life from people if we dont have right to give them life

it is a very controversial, yet a topic to think over...
i have tried to express my view here...
Think about it this way, if you are in a life threatening situation (as in attacked by a stranger, who is about to kill you), your most natural and immediate reaction would be self-defense - even if that would mean killing the stranger for protecting yourself... it that scenario, all Rights and Ethics are erased from the mind (though not intentionally)

So should the case be while passing the verdict on a serial killer... a terrorist... or for that matter any criminal who commits such a grave crime that could not be pardoned.
You put that person in Prison for 30 years. He will be restless during the first few years. Eventually, the prison will become a part of his life and he will enjoy that kind of solitude.
On the other hand, the loved ones of the victims will never come out of the grief:
The father whose son was murdered by a madman will curse himself for the rest of his life telling "Why did I force my son to go to school, while the little boy said he didn't want to?"
In that context, I am in favour of capital punishment... Tax payer money don't bother me so much as the emotional pain that the victim's loved ones suffer.
 
i think capital punishment should be valid in india as crime ratring is increasing day by day and the gravity of crime has also increased.
 
Capital punishment act as restraining element against crime but that too is only possible if our judicial system is fast which seems to be myth for india. A radical change is needed in our judicial system then only harsh punishments could be sound worhtfull to be levied eg Kasab case
 
yes,in India to make firmer rules and laws,stringent actions should be taken against criminals and what other than capital punishment for rape ,murder would suffice.
 
Capital punishment is required and should be made, but at the same time it should be ensured that the well-to-do and rich members of the society do not get away simply by shelling out some money from their pocket.
 
I think capital punishment is not necessarily required as Alisha rightly pointed out that we as humans have no right to take life of some other human .Instead i believe to correct or punish a person there are other ways .Why to go for the extreme step.
 
capital punishment shouldn't be banned as such but should to limited to extreme criminal cases like brutal murder, rape and anti national activities (like terrorism).
 
It should be valid.. I believe it should be more strict. Apart from terrorists and criminals, rapists also form a part of them. They have no right to do such heinous crime and therefore should be hanged. Infact, capital punishment is less painful punishment.

It is the fear of capital punishment which makes them aware of the fact that breaking the law is not so simple.
 
I think that capital punishment is the right thing to do because if you have the will to take somones life you should pay the price.Eye for an Eye tooth for a tooth. If someone commits a crime so horrid and descrete they should pay the ultimate by price.They should be executed by firing squad.The bible says if somone mortaly wounds somone they shall be mortaly wounded back.I am 16 years old and even though of my young age i am well aware of all the things that are going on.I know what is right and what is wrong.
