Should alcohol be banned ???

alcohol though bad consumed in small quantity helps oneself in European countries where climate is too cold there it shd not b a problem of drinks albeit it should b in proper quantity in India drinking esp excessive one that to in lower and poor ppl its an major issue banning alcohol vl create such a situation where demand vl b more than supply so black market fr alcohol vl emerge it vl also evade central and state taxes and basic problem vl remain same proper counseling and education is important in this case
 
no,bcs it generates revenue to the country,instead ration system shud be used where a single person shud b allowed to buy limited amount of liqour

Not sure why this is seen as a pressing need - there are a lot worse things than liquor around. Alcohol doesn't make a person do anything he wouldn't otherwise want to anyway. In fact its a damned good truth potion, I've often found.
 
i dnt think so it can be banned as we knw 1000 crs of money is coming frm d side of these alcohol companies to govt as a tax only thing that can be done is that we can put a limit on the supply or purchase a model need to be developed but in india it is very difficult to implement any of d models
 
according to me banning alcohol is not the solution. if today we ban alcohol people will find solace in other things like drugs etc....so i feel the solution is to help people try to leave drinking alcohol by making them understand its side effects and starting more rehablitation centers..
 
no, since consumption of alcohol is a matter of personal choice moreover its a major source of tax revenue for the governments.

Yes I absolutely agree with your viewpoint. We can't let the government start banning anything they don't like. They already are banning movies which they supposedly deem to be "controversial". Honestly, I feel as Indians we are too liberal with banning anything we don't like. It should be a matter of choice. If you don't like alcohol then don't drink it... simple as that. We don't need to decide what others need or what they don't need to have. Last time I checked India is still a democratic country. I personally do not indulge in drinking, but still I do not endorse to the banning of alcohol. Nonetheless, even if there was a ban on alcohol (which is very unlikely due to the revenue it generates), it would probably be sold through illegal channels, or the government would not enforce the ban... Anyone remembers the ban on smoking?
