Should alcohol be banned ???

In my view
Alcohol must be banned because it is having much more side effects then its good effects. In India alcohol consumption is becoming a major cause of social as well as family problems. I have seen even young students of schools are now consuming alchol so the consumption of alcohol is not good as it is destroying our society and culture of India. Even addicts of alcohol are not bothered about their families and this become a major tension for their families also. I think alcohol must either be banned or there must be an age limit set for consumption of alcohol and also it must contain warning that it is injurious to health.

if spirit is taken in right spirit it is not bad mere on the assumption that alcohol is bad for society and family it shoud not be banned . many advanced countries as well as india has legal provision such as age bar and time restriction on alcohol consumption in hotels and resturants.as far as govt earning is concerned it is a major revenue generating source for almost all the state govts. any adult person is capable enough to decide about his well being . every thing is nor enforced and directed by the law even a little thing like consunption of alcohol

It's a personal matter. There are loads of addictive things...internet is one of those. So would u ban internet because some people in Japan and Korea die due to over use of it? Of course NOT. We are humans...we have to the ability to decide what is wrong or right.ethical or unethical.
Also liquor industry gives an impetus to the financial gain of our country. SO banning will have wide reaching repercussions.
:D
Cheers! :P

What for? Just because a few bozos cannot handle it properly does not mean that it should be banned. Instead, a good policing to ensure strict ban on driving or unruly behaviour in public places should be brought about - with zero tolerance toward such acts. Also proper support programs for addicts like psychiatric counseling or more chapeter of AA should be made available, rather than a blanket ban over it, which would encourage illicit hooch, impacting mostly the poor, as those who can pay will always manage to get good quality liquor trough getting health licenses etc (by coughing up money), but rest, the poor will be at the mercy of bootlegger selling spurious products.

no alcohol shud nt be banned as it s givin our high revenue in terms of taxes and also it shud not b banned as it will create illegal markets

Absolute nonsense. Educate people about the importance of safe drinking, yes. Crack down on sale of illegal hooch (which is what ACTUALLY kills people). But imposing prohibition will only be counterproductive in the long run. Don't forget the entire American mafia built their empires on the foundation of illegal bootlegging in the 1920's when there was prohibition in the U.S.A.

More champagne, garcon!

yes..it is a must to hav bann on alchol as it creates a mess in ones life,it also affects the health as there is no mental stability, physical stability...etc

Hi All we made the mistake of trying to impose a national prohibition against alcoholic beverage once already in our history. However, we seem to be doomed to continually repeat our mistakes over and over since our lawmakers seem to be cursed with a curious inability to learn from history, so maybe it’s time to try this failed policy again. Who knows, maybe it could work this time around. Heck, spread enough disinformation and I bet we could push for a prohibition on drinking tap water too.

So why on earth would I propose such a silly thing as banning alcohol? Well, to be honest it’s not any more silly than smoking bans. In fact, if you want to look at the facts, banning alcohol would actually make more sense than smoking… But since when do facts mean anything these days? Popular opinion is clearly much more powerful than reality

according to me.. even if it gets banned it will still be available in the black market like in Gujarat and it will give rise to black marketing of liquor.. Government wont do it as they would loose revenue arising out the tax on liquor...

no i dont support that alcohol should be banned..........i thinkmore then that cigrates r harmful and should be banned as it effects the people who even dont smoke!!!!!!

What for? How about banning those from having it who cannot handle it? Yes, problem of addiction can pop up, but then the cure is to provide proper counseling made available. For other things like alcohol related accidents etc whole society needs to develop a strict attitude and punish violators heavily.

no alchohol should not be banned. The alchohol market should be properly regulated and uniform taxing on alchohol product should be implimented.
