Development of “SuCDu Show 2009 Entertainment
Entertainment is an activity designed to give people a diversion. It is usually conducted in one's free time. An audience may participate in the entertainment passively as in watching opera or a movie, or actively as in games. The playing of sports and reading of literature could be considered a form of entertainment, but these are more often called recreation, because they involve some active participation. Humans need a number of essentials to survive, which go beyond just food, water, and shelter. They include both physical and non?physical elements needed for human growth and development, as well as all those things humans are innately driven to attain. “SuCDu SHOW” is an effort to fulfil some of essential to survive.
“SuCDu Show”
“SuCDu” Show, headquartered at Mumbai, India, is a series of live shows that presents a striking, dramatic mix of circus arts and street entertainment set to original music, breathtaking costumes, and magical sets all around the world. In its fantastical world, a man can fly and a woman can walk on water. It picks up different themes each time it goes around the world with its shows. The inaugural theme Vie, meaning “Life” in French, shows the revelation of the five elements viz. Air, Water, Fire, Earth and Space, which make up life. The show goes on to portray that these are not elements in themselves, but are symbolic of the qualities and essentials of a successful human being. The performers by means of gymnastics and acrobatics display how Space is symbolic of the human character. Character, which is common to all, yet each person gives his own individualistic definition and touch to it. The whole stage then takes the form of Earth where performers magically relate the element earth to education and common sense, which build a strong foundation on which we base our entire lives. Fire, the double?edged sword that can cook our food and also burn our skin, is then used to signify the human mind, where the stage turns ablaze with the spectacular mix of dance and fire in the performance. Water, that keeps you alive, is compared to health. The stage shifts from solid flooring to liquid surface in the blink of an eye. Performers dive into the water and swim and float both under and over water. The last element, Air, is depicted next in the performance. Air, which cannot be seen or felt but that makes its presence felt, is shown as human emotions, and as love. The stage shows a mix of vibrant colors varying from anger, sadness, happiness and then finally to love and jubilation. In the end, all these five elements combine together to display a normal man, full of life, consisting of all the characteristics required to live in the world. This man is usually chosen from among the audience and lifted up by the performers on the stage, depicting the union of the five elements to create life. The show not only gives a stage performance, but an entire experience that is “alive”. While the show plays on the stage, the performers also play their parts among the audience by performing an extension of the show in between the seating blocks and on the aisles. The acrobats also perform their stints while hanging from the roof?tops, by means of specially designed ropes, and occasionally throwing confetti on the awe?struck audience. The person chosen from the audience towards the end of the show is also selected by randomly throwing the spotlight on the audience. This creates a sense of excitement among all present, while the spotlight dances wildly to choose that one person.
