Well, I think u should produce which can be sold... I can illustrate, I can produce say typewriters, but they r outdated now, they have no demand..

Hence, produce what can be sold, one that has marketability...

i do agree with amit_studies as one should continue business with current corresponding demand in the market.in fact 99% of the corporate world support this principle or strategy, whatever may it be called............

Hi,
We should produce what is required by consumers, but it should be of good quality. By doing so, consumers can be satisfied and buy our products. After gaining their confidence, we can start selling what we produce.

I do agree with the above...

Basis the need, want & demand in the market, one produces what can be sold...

Anything can be sold to the market... leading to supply > Demand that led to the products with lower margins and higher stock in hand while demand > supply leads to shortage with premium on the product and frequent brand switiching to the competitors brand for price sensitive consumers. Idealistic situation will be Demand = Supply.

produce what you sell only works today. one has to follow market oriented strategy- i.e. has to provide what the consumers expect...this is the startegy to win in competitive market situation.

Guys,
Think about companies like Google,Cisco. They are not producing what is being sold. They are selling what they produce. They are defining their own markets. There is a concept called " Blue Ocean strategy- conquering the unconquered market space. You need to create new markets for yourself. If you are producing what is selling, then you are one of the companies in the markets. You don't have a niche place for yourself.

PRODUCE WHAT YOU SELL

But one condition: Produce only if you sell well:bigsmile:
For example, look at Reliance. They sold 1st. Not being the actual manufacturers, they sold well and earned profits.

Then they changed their strategy and started producing what they sold.

Advantages??

1. Reducing unemployment (In INDIA its necessary)Companies.

2. By manufacturing they earned higher profits.

3. Also they could now sell not only to Consumers directly but even the raw products to other Companies.

"sell whatever has been produced and being in the line of production"...............reffering to the marketing strategies and policies, its a 'selling concept (old concept)'' that can remain in existence if and only if you are the only manufacturer and seller/provider of any particular product or service as one cannot think about selling/rendering any existing product/service with this concept...............

of course produce what can be sold i mean produce only those which have remarkable demand in the market.in fact most of the marketing strategies operates on this principle.but in case u r innovating something which is yet to become poular in the market but u r sure to make an deep impact with it in the market then u can sell what you produce
