I believe we all possess different personalities and hence different behaviour, it’s not necessary that we all possess the same level of confidence and strength it differs right! There are people who fear success. Various thoughts run in their mind as to how why and will they? I believe it’s not just few, almost all of us fear success. Hence today thought of writing on a similar topic, as in how to break down the fear of success from your heart and mind as well your conscious.
The first thing to do is acknowledge the fear. Realize that it's okay to be afraid of success; most successful people have had this fear but they didn't allow it to stop them. So acknowledge it and push through it to success.
Visualize yourself being successful at whatever it is you desire to do. Try to get a clear of a picture as possible then set aside time daily to focus on it.
Focus on the things that can be done TODAY to bring you closer to your goals. See yourself successful when you accomplish the things that you set out to do for that day. Don't overwhelm yourself with too many tasks.
It's easier to maintain status quo and go along unthinkingly. Life is easier when we can live it on auto-pilot.
Your Time Demands Will Change you have less time now because maintaining new levels of performance bring new demands on your time, new details you've never had.
You Make Enemies When You Perform Higher than Them you may leave former peers behind, symbolically and literally, when you raise the bar. Many people may be happy for your success and others feel slighted and envious.
A huge sign of self-sabotage or fear of success at work occurs when you don’t study for the exam or work presentation or big project. You subconsciously or deliberately sabotage yourself when you fail to prepare by.
Research shows that if you think your professional skills and abilities are fixed, then you’ll become anxious if you’re successful
Failure is the compliment of success. The key to success is to be unafraid of what outcome an action may have. If the above statement is true then you are sure to possess the following traits:
a) They are masters of their will
b) They consider failures to be learning experiences
c) They don't care what others think about their perceived recklessness
d) They are always on to the next thing anyway, and don't dwell on the past
e) They are totally passionate about what they do, even when it might be misguided
whereas the ones who have fear of success will have the following in them:
A lack of effort to achieve goals you have set for yourself in school, on the job, at home, in relationships, or in your personal growth
Self-destructive behavior, such as tripping yourself up to make sure that you do not sustain a certain level of success or achievement you once had in school, on the job, at home, in relationships or in your personal growth.
Problems making decisions, being unable to solve problems
Losing the motivation or the desire to grow, achieve and succeed
Feeling guilt, confusion and anxiety when you do achieve success--this leads you to falter, waver and eventually lose your momentum.
Sabotaging any gains that you have made in your personal growth and mental health, because once you become healthier, a better problem solver, and more "together,'' you fear that no one will pay attention to you. You are habituated to receiving help, sympathy and compassionate support.
You’re choosing to do just the opposite of what you need to do to be happy, healthy and successful
Reinforcing your chronic negativity, chronic pessimism and chronic lack of achievement since you cannot, visualize yourself in a contented, successful life
Denouncing your achievements and accomplishments, or seeking ways in which you can denigrate yourself enough to lose what you've gained
Be positive is the mantra to be adopted by all those who fear success. As it is said run after excellence and success will follow you! Is the most apt statement that should be nurtured by all.
