share, improvement in profitability, and set up new, complimentary businesses.

As a consultant based in Australia, Ron worked for a wide range of companies in the S, .apan, "hailand, Australia,
and ,ew -ealand and in a wide range of industries, including airlines, banking and finance, building and construction,
consumer products, manufacturing, services, and brewing. &n "hailand, he assisted in the building of several new
ventures, sat on various committees representing the foreign business community, founded a !hamber of
!ommerce, and was a director of the Board %f "rade of "hailand for five years, including one year as *ice !hairman.
Based in /ondon he has consulted for the Alcohol Beverage.

Ron launched a new venture in "hailand, the Better 2nvironment !ompany, focusing on bringing profitable
business solutions to environmental problems. After a successful start, the enterprise ran aground as a
result of the financial crisis that hit "hailand in 3445.

issues )particularly 62nriched !ommunities7+ and initiated a number of activities in Australia that were
recognised as best practice and replicated globally by (iageo, such as the responsible drinking programme,

Ron founded two startCup <oint venture companies focusing on environmental products. After a successful
start, with a customer list that included "hai &nternational and 0oodyear "yre, the enterprises ran aground
as a result of the financial crisis that hit "hailand in 3445 causing interest rates to rise, exchange rates to
skyrocket, and the resulting li;uidity crunch forcing customers to defer new investment and cancel orders
for new e;uipment.

Bangkok $etropolitan Authority for the delivery of ?F@ airconditioned city buses and with a consortium of
international banks for sevenCyear syndicated loan.

Amongst other activities, Ron developed an innovative customer loyalty programme, integrated the *olvoC
SAS 0olf tournament into brand and customer marketing, and restructured rural dealer and sales
representative incentives. As a result sales rose from under 3,?@@ vehicles to over A,@@@ within four years
and reported profit almost doubled. He launched *olvo "rucks as a separate "hai venture and took on the
!hrysler .eep franchise for "hailand. He also created Scandinavian /easing, a <oint venture between S$!,
AB *olvo, and Skandinaviska 2nskilda Banken. "he company later listed separately on the S2".

implement the consulting recommendations, Ron introduced innovative marketing programmes such as
Steinlager7s sponsorship of the All Blacks, the first Rugby >orld !up, and 'eter Blake7s Steinlager !hallenge
series C which won the 34B4 >hitbread RoundCtheCworld Race. "he result of these and other efforts saw a
turnaround in a decadeslong decline in domestic market share and a trebling of exports. Ron led a
restructure of the breweries, closing some and reinvigorating Auckland and !hristchurch. !losures led to
the dismissal of A@@ workers out of 3,?@@. "he way this was handled was recogniEed at the time as best
practice.

%utside of the beer business Ron launched a <oint venture, ,ew -ealand !an, producing aluminium cans for
the beverage industry. Ron was a member of the Senior 2xecutive !ommittee of /ion !orporation that
included the >ine D Spirit (istribution, Hotel, /icensed Restaurant, and /i;uor Retailing businesses.
