Mukesh Ambani announces launch of commercial operations for Reliance Jio with 4g LTE data priced at 50/GB , free voice calls, free roaming and SMS .

In a matter of minutes stock prices of Airtel and Idea tank each loosing 12,000 and 2,800 crore respectively. In may Mukesh Ambani proudly called Relaince Jio , the worlds largest startup. If this is not disruptive innovation ...what is ?
 
I have never ever seen a rockstar presentation by an Indian CEO like this ever before.
Mukesh Ambani today single handedly shook Indian Consumer & retail scenario and just not Telecom. I believe Jio Created up one of the World's largest Platform with largest domestic Consumer Base and the most imp part - Owning all the essential parts and services of the platform. I feel today will be a benchmark day for these 5 reasons
- World's biggest instant acquisition - 650 Mn customers - No Voice Tarrif. Only Data charges (Gets the Entire Nation skip their worry on their primary telecom cost I.e Voice and brings in forefront Cheap Data. Zero Roaming charges means a lot to everybody. It essentially means 650 million Indians who are not Data users or minuscule Data (less than 50 mb, Yes) will be added to Indian retail directly. Not to count 150 million affluent Data using Junta
- India's Biggest E com platform - How? Think the entire E com today addresses less than 75 mn users and the most positive estimate says there are a maximum of 150 mn customers available. Now add a crazy but conservative addition of 650 million customer base in India. Reliance has already shared that they have built India's biggest retail, logistics and distribution network) All the Jio centres can act as E com store too. It already has a foot on the ground and building a business grounds up adds all the essential cash flow items.
- India's biggest Ad Space - what do you think Reliance would do with so much 'Gold Online Real Estate'. This can possible result in an Ad income of 6-10 billion dollars as soon as next 3 years if platform play is executed in the same manner the group executes its vision in Petroleum & Gas Industry
- India's largest Digital Content Network - Reliance owns more TV, Print, Digital, Cinema than any other Corporation. With Jio it will quadruple at Quantum Speed. The revenues out of just this platform will make a startup unicorn feel timid.
- India's biggest Private VC Fund - I don't think any VC in India will have as deep pockets as Mukesh Ambani has. It has already invested 100's of million dollar before announcing a billion dollar startup fund today.
This is what I call 'Quantum Entrepreneurship' where you break the market in 'un-measurable' ways to achieve 'unheard profits' in the shortest time. Telecom shares have fallen down by Rs 20000 crores already.

Consumer wins eventually. This is a long haul fight. It is a market for Jio to lose. Airtel has taken the customers for granted and the switch will be in millions if Jio can deliver. Margins erosion for all current telco is the new reality.

1 billion people will subscribe to Reliance Jio.
Because every critique is purchasable.
Because each of us has a price.
And Ambani knows how to do a 'Sauda'.

It is said to provide lot of offers than other telecom companies. But we don't know whether it is good or bad. We need to wait even more.
