Hello friends,
We all are aware about the recent recession that shook the whole world. It affected every sector like IT industries, financial sectors, real estate, investment banking etc. Due to which companies decreased the placement packages.
Do you think that its impact is over? Are the companies giving same placement packages to MBA students like these were used to give before the recession?

Looks like the Global Market is going up again . the rupee - dollar conversion rate looks good so don't be surprised if IT Industry rules again in the next two years

First of all the salaries in the MBA institutes are no benchmark for recession and it is no way related.Jus bcos the country is out recession, they can't offer stratospheric salaries.Compensation is fixed based on the experience, candidates interview performance and the existing industry standards. Its time to forget that MBA from a top-10 institute is a gatepass for millionare club. Its always what one performs in the 2-yr MBA education, they are going to reap the benefits. I could see that ppl only see the 7 or 8 digit package advertised in the media w/o understanding the intricacies of it.

i don't think the impact on recession is over yet. peoplein B-school are still striving for the good job offer and still people are not getting placed comfortably. banks and other financial institutioons are still left to come out of the recssion.

The recession is over is what they say.... but it really takes much more time to recover since its in the initial stage of the recovery cycle... i dont think the companies were paying the same package what they have given b4 recession... hopes it will get better in the coming years..
