Quota system was started with a view to motivate and to provide the assistance to those section of society which due to some tradition and castism were not able to get the higher education. To provide the higher education to minority section of the society many institutions are providing the minority quota like Guru Nanak Institute of Management, GNIM Punjabi Bagh provides the Quota to the Sikh Minority. The candidates who came under the Sikh Minority require only 45% marks in graduation to apply for the PGDM, PGDM(Retail) and MCA.
