Innovation is designed to provide aspiring
entrepreneurs with the business acumen to
greatly improve their odds of success.
Just having a good idea is not always a ticket to success. I believe that the
Queen’s Master of Entrepreneurship & Innovation program provides the skills
and knowledge to successfully bring good ideas to fruition.

A Pre-Experience Program
You may enter the program directly after completing your undergraduate
degree. While prior full-time work experience is not required, applicants
with full-time work experience are welcome to apply.
Personalized learning and hands-on experience
The curriculum includes eight courses, two of which are major project
courses. These projects present an excellent opportunity to personalize
your learning experience around your aspirations and areas of interest.
One of the program’s major projects involves the formation and
development of an actual new venture or innovation.
A unique partnership
Because the program is ofered in partnership with Queen’s Faculty of
Engineering and Applied Science, classes will be led by outstanding
professors from both faculties, creating a learning experience that is
both practical and highly relevant.
Present your innovation project
to a panel of investors
During the program you will research and develop your innovation idea
and have the opportunity to present it to a panel of venture capitalists
and angel investors.
Queen’s Master of Entrepreneurship & Innovation is designed to develop efective leaders in
highly entrepreneurial and innovative career pursuits. You will leave the program ready to handle
a range of endeavours from the formation of a start-up, to social innovation, to innovation within a
corporate environment.

In October 2015, in recognition of an extraordinary gift from Queen’s alumnus
Stephen Smith, Queen’s School of Business became The Stephen J.R. Smith
School of Business. Under this new name, the School will continue to be one
of the world’s premier business schools and a major innovator in the feld of
business education.

The program provides strong theoretical and
experiential learning opportunities to prepare you
for a broad array of career opportunities, including:
Entrepreneurship
Commercializing an innovative product or service through the
formation of a start-up venture.
Social Innovation
Implementing innovative ideas which serves the good of society
through a not-for-proft or a for-proft venture.
Corporate Innovation
Developing and launching innovative ideas, products or processes
within the structure of an existing corporation or organization.
The Innovation Project
This major project, spanning the entire 12 months of the program,
provides the opportunity to take the concepts you have studied
throughout the program and apply them to the creation of a new
venture, either within an existing organization or a start-up. You
will gain practical experience by integrating what you have learned
thinking in cross-functional terms.
You will also hone your analytical, writing and presentation skills in
the creation of a business plan that identifes: a specifc problem; a
solution; proof of concept via market research; product development
and monetization of the product or service. You will work with a
Project Advisor who will provide guidance and feedback throughout
the process.
Upon completion of the project you will have the opportunity to
present your idea to a panel of venture capitalists and angel investors.

Admission Requirements
We are seeking exceptionally motivated people with a high level of
creativity and strong entrepreneurial aspirations.
Undergraduate Degree
Successful candidates will have an undergraduate degree from an
accredited university and an average of B+ or better in the fnal two
years of their degree.
Work Experience
While prior full-time work experience is not required for the Queen’s
Master of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, applicants with full-time
work experience are welcome to apply.
