quality of distance education

YES, No doubt on that
Because management courses involve lot of practical stuff which cannot be learned through books...there should be an interactive section to understand management concepts..

Any time. Distance edu is for those doing some good job and would like to get some enhancement in Pay scale or some training.

hey...distance ducation is many a way helpful...i am bound to get married in another two years...at that point of time i really would love to sit at home and learn rather than travel someplace and get myself too tired to handle home life as well as study....and quality basically depends on one's learning rather than whats being taught!!!

If full time on-site education is too time consuming for you, try part-time or executive MBAs. They still beat online MBAs. Which are in most cases not only waste of time, but are not highly regarded in the industry.

If you are working, and cannot afford to take out two full years for MBA either due to the good quality of your job or any other financial constraints, then part-time and distance MBAs come into picture..... though distance mba's market value is distinctly less than full-time mba programmes, they can be helpful in promotions and job changes for small and medium sized organizations.....

Quality of distance education is purely depending on how you are incorporating the theoretical concepts into practice. Learning in regular or distance doesn't have major difference but it differs by implications. Distance education helps for people who are already working and need of some course to enhance their knowledge by implementing the concepts in their work area.

Quality of distance education purely depends on how well the concepts are incorporated in working area. hence distance education suits only for people who are working.

The quality of distance education depends on the university you subscribe to. Also a major part of the effectiveness depends on your approach to the course - whether you are doing the course just to add a qualification or to gain benefit from it. Distance education works best when it is actually put into use.
A great alternative nowadays is the online education. It offers much more study resources and also the contact program itself can be held online. The testing system is also much more robust and objective.

i doubt the quality of distance education as distance learning students have too much freedom and lack of guidance.

Distance education does help to learn for people in jobs, they use their weekends to learn the subject and improve their knowledge. Of course some people also do it only for the sake of improvement in pay and such reasons.

Distance education is very bad under all circumstances, the most pathetic thing to be noticed was that no one respects a degree through distance education

completely agreed. but they have different purpose, distance education purpose is to make learning process easier for people who are quite busy to attend real college. However for those who want to pursue their career, it may be best to attend the real one

I don't even value online education that much. According to my classmates who took online courses, they are not worth of the money.

Distance Education definitely works for a select type of people....
1) Who do have the energy to work full time during the course
2) People who can study without faculty or co-student interaction

Distance education will have a result of a regular education if the student's appraoches the course like a regular one. When it comes to MBA, many times people who do it in distance lack quality...but such distance education are more meant for working men or professionals. There are many universities and colleges that gives distance learning opportunities but still run their day to day activities as a regular college which helps students to fill the gap of being a distance learner when compared to a regular student.
