Structure of Punjab University M.Ed Entrance Exam
The selection of the candidates for the M.Ed courses is determined on the basis of their performance in the written test. The entrance test questions are in an objective type format. The test consists of 75 multiple type questions. The time allotted for the exam is one and a half hours. For each questions will have four alternatives, the candidates have to pick the correct one from the choices and darken the appropriate bubble in the OMR answer sheet. The questions are mainly to evaluate the candidates’ basic knowledge in the papers they studied in their B.Ed course. The one and a half hours written test consists of questions from the B.Ed course curriculum. The questions of the tests are divided into five sections. The questions are expected from the following topics.

Section 2: The Learner – Nature and Development (Educational Psychology)
Section 3: Teaching – Learning Process
Section 4: School Management
Section 5: Guidance & Counseling
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates have to fulfill certain eligibility requirements to apply for the M.Ed courses offered by various institutes of Punjab University. The candidates have to pass their B.Ed course with 50 % marks can apply for the test. The SC/ST/Ph candidates need only 50% of marks in their B.Ed exams. Those candidates have a two years experience in a Board of School Education recognized School as in service teachers are only eligible for applying for the M.Ed correspondence course. They have to be worked at the time of their admission process. The candidates have to attain 20% marks in the entrance exam for getting admission for the course.
How to Apply?
The application form is available from selected post offices in all parts of the country. The candidates can buy it from the post offices by the payment of the cost of the application form. The cost of the application form is Rs.1800/- for the general category students and Rs.900/- for the SC/ST/PH students. The candidates can obtain the application form in Registered Post by sending a request along with a Bank draft to the Manager, publication Bureau in Punjab University. The amount of the bank draft should be Rs.1900/- for the general candidates and Rs.1000/- for the SC/ST candidates.
