PTU 2012 B.Tech/B.Pharma
Established in the year 1997 on the month of January, Punjab Technical University is the new face of advanced technical education functioning at brilliant efficiency. With 300 colleges affiliated to it, the PTU offers courses in IT disciplines, Engineering, Hotel Management, Architecture, Medical lab technologies, Pharmacy etc to name a few. PTU CET for B.Tech/B.Pharm are for selecting eligible candidates for the same course in institutes affiliated to PTU namely Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar; Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana; Guru Nanak University, Amritsar & Punjab University, Patiala.
Structure of PTU CET
The Common Entrance Test for B.Pharm/B.Tech will be of 2 hours duration with B.Tech having the following papers in multiple choice question papers each:

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility conditions for B.Tech/B.Pharm PTU CET are given below.
For B.Tech:
Candidates who own diploma in Engineering under recognized Universities associated with State Board of Technical Education are eligible and those who qualified with a total percentage of 50 or more in Higher Secondary or Board exams of equivalent standards can apply.
For B.Pharm:
Candidates should be qualified in recognized Higher Secondary Board Examinations with Physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects and with 50% or more aggregate are eligible to apply. As in the eligibility condition for B.Tech, Diploma owners for Pharmacy can also apply.
How to Apply?
To apply for the PTU CET, candidates will be able to buy application forms and an instruction book or Prospectus for an amount of Rs 550/- from the following places:
PTU Kapurthala Campus,
PTU Jalandhar Campus,
Punjab Bhawan,
New Delhi.
There are also provisions for the candidates to receive the application forms by mail. But for that, they are to send requisite letters of request for the service along with documents of significance and a Demand Draft of Rs 600/- in favor of the Registrar with their signature on the back of it and addressed to that which is given in the website. Reserved category candidates get adequate discounts. It should compulsorily be sent via Speed post or Registered post as early as possible to this address:

How to fill the Form?
Application forms are to be filled by the candidates themselves following the prescribed format which can be understood from the Prospectus or Guidelines booklet received along with it. Great care and caution should be practiced while filling up the forms. The University recommends the candidates to go through all the instructions in the prospectus before filling up the form. Using black ball or gel pens would be a good idea. The entries should be clear and precise. Candidates should especially be careful to avoid errors while filling and the form itself should be handled carefully. Folding it irregularly is not advised. The textual entries should be valid and should be entered in block letters.
