Trained facilitators work privately with
family teams, helping them identify
challenges and develop strategies
for success.
Gaining insight into the practices of
successful entrepreneurs, you will
work on plans for moving your venture
forward. Topics include:
• Turning a viable opportunity into a
winning strategy
• Formulating and pitching an effective
business plan
• Attracting top talent and vital
resources
• Developing essential capabilities
(including build/buy/partner decisions)
Designed to help you maximize your
?rm’s ?nancial success, the program
explores ?nancial challenges facing
smaller businesses in volatile economies
and complex markets. Topics include:
• Financing your business
• Managing for growth under capital
constraints
• Valuing, buying, and selling the
small business
Participant Pro?le Business owners and entrepreneurs who
are CEOs, COOs, presidents, or managing
directors of companies with at least
$10M in annual revenue. Must be actively
involved in running the business and
hold a signi?cant equity stake. Program
graduates earn HBS alumni status.
Teams of four or more business family
members, typically including the chief
executive, both genders, and at least
two generations. Teams also may include
a nonfamily executive.
Entrepreneurs and owners of small-to-
midsize businesses who are involved
in either building a new venture or
developing the capabilities needed to
jump-start innovation in their ?rms.
Business owners and ?nancial decision
makers in smaller private companies
(under $15M in annual revenue) not
funded by VC or public investment. Also
appropriate for investors in smaller ?rms
and business owners or CEOs exploring
options for selling their companies.
