Privacy no longer a social norm

The rise of social networking online means that people no longer have an expectation of privacy. People have really gotten comfortable not only sharing more information and different kinds, but more openly and with more people.
social norm is just something that has evolved over time.

The concept of "privacy" has changed this days at least on Internet. They who are addicted to social sites are ready to share their all informations to known and un-known members in the sites as if this is another way of "marketing".

Why such things may happen ? Perhaps such people have found new 'adventure' in sharing even otherwise private informations and again this may bring more and more visitors with them and open up new avenues of enlarging friendship, contacts, business, advertisement and finally ... some prestige / glamor / and perhaps monetary-gain.

I do agree that privacy is no longer a social norm.

People are so carefree to discuss anything and everthing with their net friends & colleagues. People have become more comfortable sharing private information online ; as they feel they have control over it.

But people should think upon what do they share with people online, whatever it may be but should be agiven a thought . Even though people feel comfortable letting the world know whom they are; they should consider them responsible enough for everything they share as well should be ready to bear the consequences if any in near future.
