Inspirational Words for Wednesdays
A short dose of wisdom from Maya Angelou who inspired millions with her motivating words. I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver. If we lose love and self respect for each other, this is how we finally die. We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty. The need for change bulldozed road down the center of my mind.

Positive Encouraging Sayings to Motivate You
Whenever you see an employee or coworker doing a great job, be willing to make the effort to let him/her know you appreciate the good work that's being done. Simple words of appreciation, sincerely stated, are extremely powerful, highly appreciated and have important, positive consequences. Bill Roche Have you ever thanked your husband for "choosing you" above all other women? He found you attractive as a person, and appreciated you. Though many circumstances in your marriage may have changed, let your husband know that you are glad God led you together, and that you want to be a blessing to him for the rest of your marriage. Let him know that he can trust you to be in his corner. Nancy Leigh DeMoss Do you bring sunshine or gloom into the room? If you are a negative person, don't say, "I'm just a worrier. I was born that way." Or, "It’s my nature to be depressed." God is in the personality-changing business. He wants you to "be conformed to the likeness of his Son" (Romans 8:29). You can change. You can become known for your encouraging words. Doug Britton Have you ever noticed? … when your boss praises your work or encourages you in the morning, how delighted you are! You feel like pouring your heart in the work you do, even if there is no other good reason. The words of praise keep ringing sweet bells in your ears throughout the day. How to Think Effectively
Survey like an Eagle (as if from on high) Get the big picture, include all that's relevant, see the boundaries, understand in a summary way what is happening. Observe like an Owl (with 360° vision) Be aware of all factors, even hidden or difficult to spot, which may affect what should be the real question. Measure what really happens. Solve like a Human (with ingenuity and wackiness) Use the full rein of your imagination to find the non-obvious solutions. Barry Welford If you mean to make an impression, you have to be able to think on your feet, hurl yourself into the moment, and improvise. CNN.com
It probably seems as though you’re thinking all the time, but like the rest of your body, your brain uses a variety of strategies and tricks to minimize the energy it requires. And its most effective strategy for conversing brain energy is actually not to think at all. In fact, most of the time your brain is involved in just one of three activities: distraction, reaction or following well-worn patterns. Tim Hurson Make your mistakes quickly. You may mess things up on the first try, but do it fast, and then move on. Document what led to the error so that you learn what to recognize, and then move on. Get the mistakes out of the way. As Shakespeare put it, "Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt." Ed Boyden

How to Develop a Positive Thinking Attitude
Attitude is a mind set. It is the way you look at things mentally. A positive attitude is the outward manifestation of a mind that dwells primarily on positive matters. Elwood N. Chapman A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright Close your eyes, relax and imagine that you are now a total success. Fill your being with the conviction that you are a success in this present moment. Imagine that all you have done this far in life has created noting but success. Go on to recall and then vividly relive some of the most rewarding and successful times in your life. Notice how one thought leads to another. Debbie Allen A positive attitude will produce gratitude and grateful people are happier, healthier and experience more peace in their lives then negative people, despite their circumstances. So, when we acknowledged that attitudes (both positive and negative) are contagious, we knew we had to do something to stimulate a positive attitude lifestyle movement. Always Positive At times like these, when the chips are down and we feel the weight of the world on our shoulders, I remind myself to focus on the positive. This in turn lifts my spirits and puts everything in a proper context. Lt. Col. Joseph Wolfer Positive Daily Affirmations Making and affirming your own personal declarations will make a world of difference in your outlook and your habits. Design your own upbeat daily declarations and deliver them to yourself in the mirror. Marsha

How to Think Positively Ahead
Detect your own bias. People tend to bias their guesses and actions in certain predictable ways. For example, recent events may play a larger role in influencing decisions than they warrant; or, you may be more likely to believe something just because everyone around you believes it. If you think this sort of thing is happening, start looking closely at hard evidence (like facts and numbers) and question your own assumptions. Consult the list of cognitive biases[1] for common presumptions and biases and see if any apply to you. Dvortygirl As we begin to understand the deeper reality of thoughts and the way our minds function, we can learn to become master of our mind, and train it to become the leader of our evolution, and make it
the key to unlocking our higher potential. Sraddhalu Renade Accept that you are here to grow and evolve. Life doesn’t always go smoothly. Not everything is meant to be a joyride or exercise in pleasure. Life’s lessons can be difficult, but are more so if you approach them with avoidance and apprehension. If you see them as opportunities to become stronger, wiser and more resilient, you are thinking positively and productively. Zorka Hereford Thinking outside the box requires different characteristics: One should be willing to take new perspectives to day-to-day work. One should be capable of thinking differently with an open mind, think about stuff with substance, and do things differently. One must focus on the value of finding new ideas and acting on them. One must strive to create value in newer ways. One must be capable of listening to, supporting, nurturing and respecting others when they come up with new ideas. Sudhi Seshachala

Power of Positive Thinking
You are not limited to the life you now live. It has been accepted by you as the best you can do at this moment. Any time you're ready to go beyond the limitations currently in your life, you're capable of doing that by choosing different thoughts. All you must do is figure out how you can do it, not whether or not your can. And once you have made your mind up to do it, Its amazing how your mind begins to figure out how. George Dantzig Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. Abraham Lincoln The subconscious is always receptive to suggestions that transpire from your conscious mind. So keep your conscious mind filled with creative, positive, pleasant, peaceful and productive thoughts. When you repeat an affirmation in a relaxed state of mind, it works wonders. To retain these suggestions, repeat them often, till you feel confident that they have become a permanent habit. Ernest Vinaya Kumar Be courageous. Change and improve each day. Do your best and don't look back. See learning and change as opportunities. Try new things. Consider several options. Meet new people. Ask lots of questions. Keep track of your mental and physical health. Be optimistic. Studies show that people with these characteristics are winners in good times and survivors in hard times. Donald Martin

Thoughts Positive and Uplifting
External situations and the remarks of others can harm us through our thoughts—but only to the extent our thoughts allow them to. So think positive. Talk positive. Read positive quotable quotes of great people. Surround yourself with posters and cards bearing positive messages. Keep them on your table. Hang them on the walls. Paste them near the bathroom mirror and on the doors. Stick them on your watchstrap. Keep them on the refrigerator. Have them on the dashboard of the car. Slip them under the glass of the table in front of you. Slide them in the inner side of the briefcase you carry. Find other suitable places where you are bound to look at them every day. Shefali Bajpai
If you don't like what you hear when your mind talks to you, you can use positive self-talk to change the message and push your inner voice in a positive direction. You can make your life as positive as you want. What you say to your mind is your roadmap to the future. Each word takes you to a specific destination. Make sure your self-talk is positive so it takes you where you want to go. David J Abbot No belief is right or wrong. It is either empowering or limiting Ever heard the story of the four-minute mile? For years people believed that it is impossible for a human being to run a mile in less than four minutes until Roger Banister proved it wrong in 1954. Within one year, 37 runners broke the belief barrier. And the year after that, 300 other runners did the same thing. Santosh Babu Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness. Oprah Winfrey

Positive Thinking Quotes by Edward De Bono
There are three basic aspects of thinking: 1. what is; 2. what may be; and 3. what can be.' We are almost totally obsessed with 'what is'. We underestimate the extremely valuable contribution that 'what may be' has made to progress. We do very little about 'what can be' even though our future depends entirely on this aspect. A Vision sets direction for Thinking and Action. If you do not design the future someone or something else will design it for you. Perception is real even when it is not reality. You need to have a highly efficient and effective ‘creative thinking mode’ into which you can switch deliberately and formally. It is also useful to be able to incorporate some of the attitudes of lateral thinking into daily judgmental thinking. Thinking is the most neglected human skill. It should be on the curriculum of every school but it's not. It's the most fundamental skill that's going to make a difference to personal lives, corporate lives, industrial lives. We may need to solve problems not by removing the cause but by designing the way forward even if the cause remains in place.

Think Positively and Act Positively
Try to think positively and not worry much about your negative thoughts. Trying to avoid thinking about negative things is a bad strategy. And is bound to produce oppositive results for you. Daniel M. Wegner of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas conducted a research into how people tend to avoid thinking negative thoughts and think it may help them turn positive. He told his subjects, Try not to think about a white bear. This produced the thought of a white bear 5 to 6 times in five minutes.

Positive Thinking Poems
Another Chance How often we wish for another chance to make a fresh beginning. A chance to blot out our mistakes And change failure into winning. It does not take a new day To make a brand new start, It only takes a deep desire To try with all our heart. To live a little better And to always be forgiving And to add a little sunshine To the world in which we're living. So never give up in despair And think that you are through, For there's always a tomorrow And the hope of starting new. Helen Steiner Rice It Isn't Costly Does the grouch get richer quicker than the friendly sort of man? Can the grumbler labor better than the cheerful fellow can? Is the mean and churlish neighbor any cleverer than the one Who shouts a glad "good morning," and then smiling passes on? Just stop and think about it. Have you ever known or seen A mean man who succeeded, just because he was so mean? When you find a grouch with honors and with money in his pouch, You can bet he didn't win them just because he was a grouch. Oh, you'll not be any poorer if you smile along your way, And your lot will not be harder for the kindly things you say. Don't imagine you are wasting time for others that you spend: You can rise to wealth and glory and still pause to be a friend. Edgar Guest The Fighter I fight a battle every day Against discouragement and fear; Some foe stands always in my way, The path ahead is never clear! I must forever be on guard Against the doubts that skulk along; I get ahead by fighting hard, But fighting keeps my spirit strong. I hear the croakings of Despair, The dark predictions of the weak;
I find myself pursued by Care, No matter what the end I seek; My victories are small and few, It matters not how hard I strive; Each day the fight begins anew, But fighting keeps my hopes alive. My dreams are spoiled by circumstance, My plans are wrecked by Fate or Luck; Some hour, perhaps, will bring my chance, But that great hour has never struck; My progress has been slow and hard, I've had to climb and crawl and swim, Fighting for every stubborn yard, But I have kept in fighting trim. I have to fight my doubts away, And be on guard against my fears; The feeble croaking of Dismay Has been familiar through the years; My dearest plans keep going wrong, Events combine to thwart my will, But fighting keeps my spirit strong, And I am undefeated still! Art of Thinking Positively
Most of us can learn to live in perfect comfort on higher levels of power. Everyone knows that on any given day there are energies slumbering in him which the incitements of that day do not call forth. Compared with what we ought to be, we are only half awake. It is evident that our organism has stored-up reserves of energy that are ordinarily not called upon - deeper and deeper strata of explosible material, ready for use by anyone who probes so deep. The human individual usually lives far within his limits. Dr. Peale When you decide on a question to ask yourself, ask the question and keep asking. Ponder it. Wonder about it. Let it run through your mind whenever your mind isn’t otherwise engaged. It will turn the tide of your thoughts and bring you into a new state of mind because you’re thinking positively positively. Adam Khan Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you can make anything happen. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe It is easier to keep a positive frame of mind when things go well. It is tougher to do so when in the midst of problems, difficulties or obstacles. In such times you will need more effort, attention and patience. If you learn how to think positively when not under pressure, stress or strain, it will be easier to do so when things are tough. Remez Sasson Positive thinking, the right attitude towards goals, will get us to the top. Whatever ideas and plans you have inside your mind, if you have the positivity, you have all the reasons to do it and fulfill it. What can hinder you from doing what you planned to do? Do not let negative thoughts block you on your way to success. Conquer your doubts by just being positive and soon you will have the inner strength to carry out your plans. Reed Floren

Positive Thinking Tips II
Feeling down. Clear your head with some positive thoughts and be energized. Keep in mind, all success comes from behaviors (from doing something)...But all behaviors start out as thoughts (mental activity). So if you want different behaviors, you'll need to have different thoughts. It's as simple as that. Mike Brescia The key to success is to influence the subconscious mind and set up new habits and behaviour. The subconscious responds to repetition. Repeating a positive affirmation to yourself will make it respond. Try saying something like: “Every day in every way things are getting better.” In addition, you can trick the emotions into responding favourably. When we smile it releases chemicals in the brain that make us feel good. Try looking in the mirror and grinning at yourself. Don’t feel self conscious- just do it. You will be amazed at how good it makes you feel. Also, make sure you smile when you meet people. It will make you feel good and they will respond to you. Turn yourself into a smile millionaire! Craig Everything changes, even stone. Claude Monet Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will. Zig Ziglar When you encounter negative people or surroundings, the first thing you need to do is assess the situation. Decide where the negativity is coming from. Once you have figured that out you have two choices. You can remove yourself from the situation or you can try and stay positive and possible raise the person from their negative funk. Sprice

Art of Lateral Thinking
Lateral Thinking expert Edward de Bono says With logic, you start out with certain ingredients, just as in chess you start out with given pieces. But what are those pieces? he says. In most real-life situations, the pieces are not given, we just assume they are there. We assume certain perceptions, concepts and boundaries. One is always confusing conditioned thinking with creative thinking. De Bone explains that Lateral thinking is concerned not with playing with the existing pieces but with seeking to change those very pieces. It is concerned with the perception part of thinking.

In the evening, you even tell your wife about it. child-discipline-with-love.com

Another Chance How often we wish for another chance to make a fresh beginning. A chance to blot out our mistakes And change failure into winning. It does not take a new day To make a brand new start, It only takes a deep desire To try with all our heart. To live a little better And to always be forgiving And to add a little sunshine To the world in which we're living. So never give up in despair And think that you are through, For there's always a tomorrow And the hope of starting new. Helen Steiner Rice It Isn't Costly Does the grouch get richer quicker than the friendly sort of man? Can the grumbler labor better than the cheerful fellow can? Is the mean and churlish neighbor any cleverer than the one Who shouts a glad "good morning," and then smiling passes on? Just stop and think about it. Have you ever known or seen A mean man who succeeded, just because he was so mean? When you find a grouch with honors and with money in his pouch, You can bet he didn't win them just because he was a grouch. Oh, you'll not be any poorer if you smile along your way, And your lot will not be harder for the kindly things you say. Don't imagine you are wasting time for others that you spend: You can rise to wealth and glory and still pause to be a friend. Edgar Guest The Fighter I fight a battle every day Against discouragement and fear; Some foe stands always in my way, The path ahead is never clear! I must forever be on guard Against the doubts that skulk along; I get ahead by fighting hard, But fighting keeps my spirit strong. I hear the croakings of Despair, The dark predictions of the weak;
S.E. Kiser
