Petition for Public Grievances and Pensions for Justice for Aarushi and Hemraj

The road to justice is not an easy one. This is an everlasting proven fact. In the recent past, families of RuchikaGirhotra, Jessica Lall, ShivaniBhatnagar, PriyadarshiniMattoo, NitishKatara, etc have all faced this immortal truth, and there is no exception for DrsRajesh and NupurTalwareither. First, the unfortunate death of their only child shook them up beyond imagination and latercame the frustration of getting framed for the murder.

Dr Talwar couple have always abided by the law of land and fully cooperated with the police and investigating agencies. In response they have got shocking responses. First, the arrest of Dr Rajesh Talwar, then letting off of the servants despite their involvement being provenby scientific tests, later framing of murder charges on the parents, followed by Dr NupurTalwar’s arrest. During this period of four and a half years after Aarushi’s murder, there are many loose ends in the trial which are evident to all but none of the agencies have taken notice of them.

We, the family, friends, well wishers, near and dear ones in an attempt to raise our voice and be heard by all those concerned, have created an e-petition which will be presented to the Honorable Minister of State,Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. This petition is created on www.change.org website and highlights some of the discrepancies mentioned above. The petition can be reached at www.change.org/aarushi.

Speaking about the petition Dr VandanaTalwar, aunty of Aarushi, says, The online petition ‘Justice for Aarushi and Hemraj’ (www.change.org/aarushi) has been put forth to ensure that all available evidence with the CBI (including 1st and 2nd teams’) which shows innocence of the parents and involvement of the servants is not allowed to be manipulated or suppressed by them. The deliberate acts of omission and unsubstantiated insinuations of the investigating agencies have resulted in Aarushi’s parents facing trial, despite being victims who have not been given a chance to grieve over their daughter’s death. These agencies need to have more accountability and transparency in their functioning so that they do not harass the innocent and let the guilty get away. We hope that the petition would make the authorities aware of the lapses in the investigation and thereby help in providing justice by not only catching the culprits, but also preventing recurrence of such instances in the future.”

In the present era of Information Technology, we believe that this is an effective way to put forward our feelings and we hope that this petition will havethe desired impact.
