This is understandable as the employees in the teams are predominantly skilled personnel. There is an existing presumption that without their capabilities and skills in the team, the overall operations of the business unit as well as the company will be crippled. To some extent, there is veracity in this supposition. Personnel adept in information technology are hard to come by. To this end, seeking their cooperation would be the best way to win them over.

Effective knowledge management according to Tung (2001) has parallels with effective innovation. For innovation to take place, a company needs caring people who are willing to share for the greater good of the company and creative people who have the ability to turn ideas into practical products and services.

When team culture reigns, teams are dependable and consistent. People voice their opinions openly. They demonstrate creativity, innovate and see a job through to conclusion.
