Hi guys

We've(4 members) to present a plan to open a Retail Store with a feasible financial plan and the strategies we would use to attract Customers on Regular basis..

I'm thinking to open a Book Store(Sale+Rental+2nd hand) which would cater to demands of people(my small town) of various Age n Income groups.

So I need ur opinion and suggestions for it asap....:SugarwareZ-030::SugarwareZ-030:
 
hello,

Before starting up the store just clearly identify the taste and the preferences of the local people so that when you launch you are accepted easily.

if you have a open space in your shop then you can also try to make it as a small library or reading place for people where they could sit and discuss.

What offers I can give to attract more n more customers( like Membership,cash discounts,contests,etc) keeping in mind my Profit Margin?

when you start up all the options of marketing are essential in new start up.......

see for a new start up according to me its important to get goodwill and publicity is essential........ and later on when your store gets known then you can cancerntrate on profits....... this also doesnt mean that in intial stages you put your self in loss...... but yes dont think of access profit .

And also yes you can go for discounts and also if some body returns you a book which is being brought from you then you can decide some amount or some percent which you can return when the customer ...... so follow some more such marketing tips...........................
 
Also these are somethings you could do
1. Start a Reference program wherein if the members refer someone they ll get additional discounts
2. if they return books on time then they will be eligible to take 2 books or something on these lines

1. Keep magazines also specially if ur targeting women
2. also keep a drop box wherein ppl can suggest any book thts not in the library or anything to improve the service
 
First of all - identify the audience and select groupd whom you will want to target like college students, book lovers, elderly people, etc. and whoever
2) identify the tastes and also the trend of the same and see how it is going to be and change in the near future
3) based on above serach and collate a database of book suppliers and distributors who will supply in time and in right quantity
4) now identify how will you reach the audience you are targetting - market plans - phamplets in big stores, phamplets in newspapers in nearby area,

2) categorise as groups - college students, elderly, women, children, kids, specific theme orientations,
3) identify if there is a sub categorisation in the groups
4) search and collate and contract with reliable book suppliers, distributors, who supply in right time, right quantity
5) tie up with publishers also - also tie up with local publishers are you are saying is a small town
6) see if you can create a small reading space
7) plan out the shop in following ways
