Although it's true that not everyone on line (not just dating sites) is genuine, many are and the good sites vet them as much as possible. I have known people who met and married through online dating sites and are quite happy.

People connect in different ways. Meeting someone online can allow you to get to know their personality before you know what they look like and other, more shallow, concerns. This is one way to find someone you can truly click with without being distracted by more superficial qualities.


It's just like offline dating in that there are some jerks out there but also some really nice people, and it's up to YOU to use your own discernment and judgment to figure out who belongs in which category!

There are different stories and different people. Moreover, people come to dating sites with very different intentions. Somebody has serious plans while others are looking for entertainment. Even from profile photos, it is clear enough that people are looking for different things. But it would be fair if they state it in their profiles not to mislead other participants.

I guess it is more about fun and time wasting. But honestly there are some love stories out there
