No Oscar for Indian movies.why?

oho.... helo ppl oscars is for the americans.... they will and WILL pass da honors to their counterparts... or ppl who contribute to cinema and industry... da judges are ppl who know or are seeing cinema of that genre for years... and u can't xpect wht a person likes here in mumbai wud be enjoyed by an oscar judge....they hav not seen a song in their movie, how can they bear 6 sequence songs....[

so the bottom line... u can xpect a foreigner to like butter chicken but cannot include it in his daily meal....[

Hey,
I can't completely agree to the fact tht the presence of songs is hindring the oscar for the Indian movies.Oscar are also given to non-English movies.So the judges sitting in the Oscar forum don't jus go blindly by the songs sequences and they are nt denying it.All it takes is that how the movie was able to present its message and if there are any flaws in tht besides some of the facts that was stated already.

Indian movies are truly a reflection of the Indian culture which might be too
hard to digest by the Americans. The fact is that we have a history,a
civilization to be remembered and cherished unlike them and well they
wouldn't really understand as to what the whole Indian culture or the Indian
cinema is all about. Again unlike english movies the indian movies are full of
dances and songs which are very unlikely to happen in real life situations.So
in fact that must be their point of not giving an Oscar to any of the Indian
movies.So then if such is the case why do the representatives of the
Indian cinema have to send these movies to the Oscars? A true achievement
of a cinema is when it is being accepted by the whole mass in India.Even if
we are receiving an Oscar will it bring "any" difference to the life of Indian
cinema.I doubt! I guess it is just a sheer waste of time sending these movies
to the oscars,not because they are bad but the people there are no good in
making sensible judgements.
