The Sensex closed at 16,237 up 45 points after trading in the range of 16,423 – 16,191. The Nifty was up 11 points to settle at 4,856 after making an intra-day high of 4,912 and low of 4845. The Small cap and Midcap indices were down by 1.05% and 0.59% respectively. The breadth was negative and the markets total turnover was low at Rs 94,159 cr. as against yesterday’s volume of Rs 108,459 cr.
