Indian markets ended lower as a rebound in the US dollar hurt metal stocks. The Sensex ended down 118 points at 16,983 after hitting a high of 17,176 and low of 16,943. The Nifty finished at 5,066 down 42 points after hitting a low of 5,051. Selling was seen in metals, oil & gas, reality and banking stocks. The breadth was negative and the markets reported a low volume, total turnover of Rs 76,336 cr.
