The markets opened with an upside gap and ended on a very strong note making fresh 52 week high. All major sectoral indices ended on a strong note. Technology stocks however ended on a flat note.The Sensex closed at 17,935 up 243 points after trading in the range of 17,948-17,693. Nifty shut at 5,368 up 77 point after trading in the range of 5,377- 5,290. The Small cap and Mid-cap indices were up by 1.97% and 1.45% respectively. The breadth of the market was very strong and the turnover was recorded at Rs 76,892Cr. The April nifty future ended with a 3 point premium.
