U.S. stocks rose on the anniversary of the 2009 bear-market low for the
Standard & Poor’s 500 Index amid speculation the economy will continue to recover from the worst contraction since the Great Depression. The S&P 500 rose 0.2 percent to 1,140.45. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 11.86 points, or 0.1 percent, to 10,564.38.
