The benchmark Nifty closed at a new 30-month high led by global cues and buying in infrastructure, realty, metal, technology, telecom, auto and select financial companies shares. Realty companies' shares witnessed huge buying interest; the BSE Realty Index rallied 4.5%. The BSE Sensex closed at 18,287 up 143 points or 0.79% and the Nifty rose 47 points or 0.86% to settle at 5,486 after hitting a high of 5,491.
