NGOs - Do they serve peoples interests or are they pressure groups?

NGOs have become very powerful today. They have a major role to play in politics as they swerve peoples opinion. They enjoy a lot of support and goodwill of the people. They can also make or break a business. They protect the interests of the people and represent a collective voice against anything that goes against their interests. Most of the times NGOs are more capable in securing a fair deal for the general good. Also the NGOs have shown that they are in a better position to handle social issues than most governments.

My philosophy is that, any organisation can be good if they have a good purpose and have a fair system (transparent). However, the orgs. started for some kind of greed or ill purpose will lead to an accident for the country.

NGOs can serve the people's interest and can also act as a pressure group if they are dedicated towards people. They do have some power if they work well.

They drive change and they play very crucial role in helping people. They are like pressure group on government and helping hand for people. NGO is an integral part of society and they work for the benefit of the people. There are numerous NGO like matrini, sakhi and many more added to the list.
