
JBIMS is the one of the premier business schools which took part in Smile Foundation's' National Youth Sensitization Drive'.On 27th July, a special promo screening of the film 'I am Kalam' was organised at JBIMS in association with Smile Foundation. It is a movie about a child labourer who is inspired by former President APJ Adbul Kalam and decides to educate himself. Through this movie based on the Right to Education, the makers intend starting a literacy campaign across the country. Bschool students being future managers of the nation have taken part in this campaign as their responsibility to the development of society.

This film has been premiered at 63rd Cannes Film Festival on May 12 and has already bagged 12 International awards. After becoming a huge hit at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and winning the Audience Choice Award for the Best Feature Film, Prince Charles has expressed keen interest in watching the film and has requested a special screening to be done at the Buckingham Palace.

The event flow for the same was as follows:

· Screening of the First look of I am Kalam
· Quiz based on the film
· Tie the Tye contest - Symbolic representation of Chotu’s aspirations
· Slogan writing (on the spot Facebook activity)
· Pledge for the cause by JBIMS students

This event saw great participation not only by the students but also by the director, faculty, and the management. It ended with JBIMS extending support to the 'Literacy and send every child to school campaign'.
