my sip in home appliances industry

Good exp – My first good exp in IFB is time management that how they manage their time by

merging all works like sales and service. Also like time situation handling is also important in any

company that I learn over there.the best part of my internhip is that to learn how to behave and talk

in organisation as a part of my professional course this things is very important to learn before join

any organisation.

Bad exp – I have good exp but apart from that also I bad exp like transportation facility in surat

region. The second was appointment which I have already taken with delaers and builders

sometimes not in time and due to this problem sometimes it is very difficult to manage two appont

at a same time. .

Expected – for one and half month somehow my expectation wrong and right. I thought that the sale

of the products may be not good in washing machine segment. I also thought abt the brand image

and reputation and also management related work that it may be not good.

Real – real things is different from my expectation the sale of the sale of the company is supperb

in washing machine segment manily in front load. Company has 55% market share in front load

segment. Compny reputation in this segment is very good and is up to the mark. During my

internship dealer support was also good.

Achievements – during my internship I learnt many things which can be useful in my professional

life. I felt that according to company environment we must adjust in it not work like us but it must be

in a proper way. I also learnt that how to behave and how to follow and talk with your senior fellow

may be these all things will not get by only book knowledge and other thing the market scenario is

also different from the organisation culture so according to it we have to manage all the things in a

proper way and these all things I learnt from ths internship.

Good side – as an intern the best thing is you can do mistakes and mistakes to learn because no one

will tell anything. To work without being an employee is good exp bec from that you learn many

things and it will be usefull as a real employee. So in any internship the good part is to learn by

mistakes and find out your mistakes and correct it because in real corporate life you dnt have to

chance make a mistakes all the times.

Bad side – being an intern the bad side is staff support and support from market because any

company is not ready to give any confidential data to you so it sometimes create a problem to

collect data also you haven’t any authority to take decision and also support from the staff may be

sometimes not as your ecpectation bec they already knw you are here for only 1 to 2 months.

These were all the points which I learnt, observed, marked.

This is a candid and straightforward reflection on an internship experience, effectively outlining both the positive and negative aspects, as well as the gap between initial expectations and the realities encountered. The insights on professional conduct and learning from mistakes are particularly valuable.

Key Learnings: Time Management and Professional Conduct

The author highlights time management as a primary positive learning experience, specifically observing how IFB seamlessly merges sales and service functions. The importance of situational handling within a company was also a significant takeaway. Crucially, the internship provided practical lessons on professional behavior and communication within an organization, which the author rightly identifies as essential skills that go beyond academic knowledge, preparing them for future corporate roles.

Challenges: Logistics and Support

Despite the positive learnings, the internship presented logistical challenges. The primary "bad experience" was the inadequacy of transportation facilities in Surat, which impacted daily operations. Additionally, issues with pre-arranged appointments with dealers and builders not adhering to schedules led to difficulties in managing multiple engagements simultaneously.

Expectations vs. Reality: Market Performance

The author's initial expectations regarding the company's performance in the washing machine segment were mixed. While there was some apprehension about sales, brand image, and management, the reality proved to be quite different. The internship revealed that IFB's sales in the washing machine segment, particularly front-load models, were "superb," with the company holding a significant 55% market share. The brand's reputation was also found to be strong, and dealer support was notably good, directly contradicting some initial concerns.

Achievements and Intern's Unique Position

The internship yielded valuable "achievements" in terms of professional development. The author learned the critical importance of adapting to the company environment rather than expecting the environment to conform to individual preferences. Lessons on behaving and communicating with senior colleagues were also highlighted as invaluable, distinguishing practical experience from theoretical knowledge.

A unique aspect emphasized is the "good side" of being an intern: the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them without severe repercussions. This "safe space" allows for crucial learning that might not be afforded to a full-time employee, fostering personal growth and self-correction. Conversely, the "bad side" of being an intern involves challenges with staff support and the difficulty in obtaining confidential data, as companies are often hesitant to share sensitive information with temporary personnel. The limited authority and temporary nature of the role also impacted the level of support received.

Overall, the internship provided a holistic view of the corporate world, emphasizing the blend of market realities, organizational culture, and personal adaptation.
