Mumbai may face more attacks, warns cop

With no headway into the Mumbai serial blasts of July 11 and the terrorists still at large, the city could face the prospect of more terror strikes in the country's financial capital, a senior police officer warned on Friday.

Describing Tuesday's blasts as "high sophisticated" for its planning and the fact that no bomb did not explode, the officer said it is possible that the terror module may feel emboldened to carry out more such attacks in the near future.

"The aim behind the attacks was to create panic and cause communal riots, both of which have not happened. The terrorists may feel a second strike quickly may do the job," he added.

According to the officer, the attack could happen anywhere. "They have now struck on trains. If they find the security improved on the Railways, they may strike on buses, markets, cinemas, malls, and even temples."

What is needed at the moment, he said, are good intelligence, an alert public, and political will.

ya,piyazcool, mumbai may get another experience of the bomb-blasts as there is no security in small towns even aftr the 7/11 bomb-blasts. Now, Mumbai turns to be very unsafe, nothing is in hands of public.
The imp. thing is govt. will not come to help us, we ourselves hav to save us, very disgusting it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea Rahul.. exactly...dont wher n when it will strike again.. we may avoid the trains but who knows wher they ll target next... just have to be ALERT 24/ 7!
 
Well....we have to admit that the defence is partially responsible. Since the last 5 months,although there have been numerous RDX finds security wasn't beefed up. And after the bombs explode the whole country goes on high alert for 2 days and then goes back to normal. This should change and the level of alertness should remain constant, if not increase. Thanks for the post anyway. A good read :)
 
these terrorists might as well drop a bomb at the mantralaya or other MP colonies.... only thn will the politicians will rise...or else these things r never gonna end...and we r continously goin to live under this threat
